I think Ed was more referring to the fact that Giles asked for the number and was given it without having earned it.

It's easy to misunderstand your posts ben. Particularly that one, since you've spent so much time over the last 7 months pissing all over the players, while arguing with other posters that everything that went wrong last season wasn't the coaches fault.

Giles and his pop have some thin skin. Papa Giles blamed the coaches and LSU fans after I criticized Giles (in as non-derogatory of a tone and language as you can) on Twitter in the middle of a game last year.

Giles worked hard he just did not deliver.
Really no reason for O to mention that though.
He should be trying to build Giles confidence not get after him publicly this late in the game

Yet the coaches kept playing him. So they failed in evaluating his talent and failed in managing the spot on the roster and continued to play a colossal failure.
People want to shite on the kid but not the multimillion $ coach not doing his fricking job properly.

I think a more constructive comment from the coach would've been what he could've done better to help Giles succeed.

That’s fricked up if he said that about an actual player still on the team. You dont kick your own player when he’s down, especially as a head coach and especially saying that directly to the media.

It would be one thing if O said this to Giles/ any other player in a meeting. Or anywhere behind closed doors. Get your message across without embarrassing the guy publicly. While in no way did Giles meet expectations(ok he sucked) he is STILL your charge, Ed. He STILL deserves better than a drive by potshot in a press conference.
