Giles probably cost himself a lot of money and maybe an NFL career by transferring to LSU. He could have stayed at Tech, had one or maybe 2 more years of 1,000 yard seasons, and been on the draft radar. I'm betting his plan was come to LSU, show out on the biggest stage and go pro after one season. But he was exposed as dreadfully slow and untalented against SEC defenses. And with as big of a deal as LSU makes of the numbers 7 and 18, him being made to wear 12 half way through the season was basically O telling the world that Giles isn't a good player.

I’m not disagreeing with you there. I’m not saying that in defense of O.
If he was a locker room cancer then that’s ultimately O’s fault but he didn’t seem to be well liked among players so maybe stop white knighting for the guy who provided nothing of value to the program.

Maybe. But that could owe to O's mismanagement of Giles's transfer. O prematurely hoisting that #7 on him could very well have poisoned the well from the start. That's a management/coaching error.

Maybe Giles can get a second chance when some NFL team comes along and offers him a ridiculously stupid but sweetheart deal for him....kind of like LSU did with O after Ole Miss.

I don't like a coach speaking about a player this way in the media but O hasn't done this before that I can remember. I am going to give him a pass on this one. I also don't think Giles will even be on the team come summer. They need to trim roster spots and his is prime spot to cut.

Why can’t y’all understand poor play isn’t something to shite on a 20 year old kid for. If he didn’t try hard or gets in trouble that’s one thing, but crapping on a kid for poor play alone never should be tolerated

How? I’ve already said that O was an idiot to bring him in. The same people bashing O in this thread are the same people calling him a waste of space in game day threads.
