When you are more interested in a players rep than said players impact on the game itself your priorities are messed up.

So we have sources saying that he will play this week, that he will be out 6-12 weeks, and that it is a very serious injury-done for the year. All in this one thread. Incredible

You had fans bashing him for two weeks because he was “soft” which he isn’t

I’m not more interested in either or. But I would definitely say that Him getting a bad reputation probably bothers me more than it does you. I don’t know what to tell you man.

But it’s going to be what it’s going to be. The same people who criticize him will continue to. It is what it is.

I definitely question blitzing the best cover corner in the country. He’s kinda valuable covering I would think If Ed was going for unexpected it’s definitely that.

Although you have to be careful and have other guys back there than can cover well, the corner blitz can be a great weapon with the right guy blitzing. Honey Badger used to kill teams blitzing and made some phenomenal plays doing so. We used to also kill teams with safety blitzes with Grant Delpit and Laron Landry years ago.

This sucks - hope he's not out for long, if at all.

But of course he would miss the most pass happy team we play two seasons in a row.

I agree. But none of those guys you mentioned can cover like Stingley. So not good comparisons. I don’t think Stingley is a guy who’s blitzed very much if at all either.

But it is what it is. I’m not gonna get on Ed too much for it.

Let’s just hope his injury is not as serious as the worst we’ve heard.

Yes and to further clarify your point... The player who is doing the blitzing is also very important. For a variety of reasons. Everyone who is saying he shouldnt be blitzing dont know what they are talking about.

You’ve posted about it 3-4 times in the thread where the news about his injury broke. It isn’t even confirmed yet. But your focus is on his reputation. It’s retarded.

It amazes me that people think other coaching staff’s only ability to gain intel on injury situations is the opposing team’s fan-based injury board

I think a Corner blitz against Leach’s offense is stupid. It will likely never get there.

People already forgot but Tyrann Mathieu was unbelievable in coverage. Plus the backup safeties to Laron Landry and Grant Delpit probably made them look like the best coverage safeties in the game.

It’s misplaced. The impact of his injury to the team is what’s most important right now. If he’s out for the year, I can guarantee he’s not thinking about his rep. He’s mourning his lost season.

But, you keep being you.

My posts about his commitment was in response to others posting things about it.

I’ve also talked about Ed’s decision to blitz him. I think you’re only seeing what you want.

But what do you want to talk about? The effect it will have on the team?

It’s huge. He’s irreplaceable when it comes to covering the outside. So yeah, that side of the field is going to be less open now. Kind of big. Depending on how long he’s out, if the injury is lingering and it affects the way he plays, lotta factors. So I think we’re just gonna have to wait and see on that.
