Whether or not the guys would have run through a wall for Pelini is irrelevant because they had no idea how to find the wall.

I think it's great that Jones is taking a personal approach, at least upfront, but it's very important that he's good with the install and adjustments. The guys could love him but still not know what the hell they're supposed to be doing.

Devin White loved Coach Aranda. That's enuff for me. But, as well, White said Aranda's door was always open & encouraged his players to come by to watch film or just talk. Aranda was quoted as saying White lived in his office the summer before his final season.

And you have the inside track on what "there's a HC" does behind the scenes..... nope.

It's not about coddling. It's a out showing that you give a damn about the players outside of what they can do for you on the football field. Outside of the lines, these guys deal with so much more personally and emotionally. Are football coaches hired to coach? Yes. But they are also there to mentor and help develop them to become better people on and off the field. Lead by example. Players want to know that they can trust their coaches and willing to understand them outside of the locker room and really mean the bullshite they said while on the recruiting trail. You dont know what many of these guys have to go through everything day but all most of you really care about is whether they're gonna play or not. I think it's good that Jones is reaching out to everyone and building that line of communication. If he goes to them now, they will come to him for anything.

My our professor’s didn’t care if you passed or failed though.

Coaches have a vested interest in their players succeeding.

My boss never called me, either. I didn't get a hug, and nobody asked me how my day, or life was going.

I'm so tired of these high maintenance children, stuck in the bodies of young adults.

It’s good to have a personal relationship with your players but kids these days need to be so coddled, it’s sad. I’m sure Aranda would’ve had personal talks with Stingley had Stingley reached out to him. DCs have a lot on their plates between coming up with game plans, coaching, recruiting, and not to mention they do have families of their own at home. Sorry aranda didn’t have time to reach out to you on a daily basis and ask you how your day went. Your the best player on LSU and you’re most likely treated like a God walking around campus. Enjoy the experience you’re living in, don’t be a person craving attention from everyone.

That’s a real stretch. You’re taking one sentence and implying Stingley never reached out or had no relationship with Aranda. I mean....ok. Your feelings seem just as brittle as the kids you say need to be coddled.

Stingley was an All American under Aranda. It’s safe to say that Aranda had personal talks with the kid.

Well based on this quote from him seems like there wasn’t that much of a relationship. However, they were only together for a year. My point is DCs, in the sec especially, don’t necessarily have the time of day to reach out to every player on their D for personal conversations. Hence that’s why they always say my door is always open. They have a job to do and families at home. Devin white certainly didn’t have a problem having a good relationship with aranda. No reason Stingley couldn’t have done the same. And maybe they did have a good relationship but when you say something like that what else are you supposed to think?

Correct. We need to young guys to step up because Damone isn't the answer.

lmfao you are a fricking loser if your reaction to these stingley quotes is negative. Why are you upset that a coach is building relationships with his players? Daddy didn't love you enough?
