Ok. Positive sign. But they still gotta go out and make plays even if they have nice happy feelings about each other.

Whether or not the guys would have run through a wall for Pelini is irrelevant because they had no idea how to find the wall.

I laughed but that’s sadly true, or at very least, looked to be accurate on Saturdays. I’m all in on this coaching staff, wasn’t my first choice or even second, but LSU doesn’t send me a check or care what I think. #personalrelationshipU GDT’s

Yeah I really don’t know how or why so many people are spinning this as a negative. Some on here have managed to turn some simple good news of a star player and coordinator getting on the same page before the season into a critique of the mindset of “kids today”. I mean seriously. Some of y’all are miserable.

Because this is the Rant. You could post about how cute puppies are and have 10 guys tell you what a moron you are...and that puppies are going to ruin LSU football forever!!!

It blows my mind that these guys are being paid 7 figures a year to manage and teach a group of players yet apparently never bother to reach out to said players?

Not mine. Maybe the staff thought these kids were more emotionally mature than they are....and how do you dole out your attention. It can ruin a chemistry pretty quick if the stars are getting the phone calls and the others are not. Not saying this is happening...but am saying I can understand why you take a very professional approach.

When you have returning players with incumbent coaches the relationships between them have already been established through the recruiting process and times spent together in previous seasons (like with Aranda). A phone call doesn’t make headlines in that scenario because they have been talking most days for years.

The reason why Jones reached out to Stingley and probably the rest of his players is because he is new, and they don’t already have an established relationship. And I think that’s a great move by him. He realizes his success is largely dependent on building trust. Bet Pelini didn’t do that.

I think Jones is going to be an excellent hire.

Great take on this.
Why is this so hard for others to understand? The catastrophe syndrome is strong around here.

Daronte Jones said at his press conference that the players don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. Daronte is obviously living out what he believes in most.....bodes well for the Tigers.
