where we really are is going be told in large part in these next 4 weeks.
last week= part 1 = fail
time will tell.
And given our past, it certainly wouldn't be that unexpected to have a down year, like every other damn school does every now and then.

Have people still not wrapped their heads around the fact that the negativity, hate and disgruntlement of LSU fans stems solely from the fact that our number 1 rival and divisional foe has a better coach and better team and is accomplishing what LSU should be accomplishing while we continue to play second fiddle?
I think people simply realize what this program COULD be and see what the "underachievement" and get vitally pissed off about it. This fanbase needs a serious shot of rational thought and tempered expectations as long as Saban is at Alabama.

I really think if club can get by SCar it will be a very good (and at this point a seemingly surprising) year. If not, it's going to be tough. Still got LSU winning 16-10.

Down years should not be a concern..that happens,
but WHY we have one should be part of the equation.
but, I see too many coincidences as a continuation of what happened on 1-9-12, there is the same as here...
a LOST . it happens, HOW we lost.. that's a different issue.
I really feel Miles lost support or partial support from some of his players and/or coaches because of his self-centered actions..... to what degree is what we can not gauge at this time.
I just do not see the effort (going to the wall for Miles) attitude...something has happened and minimized that.
....time will tell....
even a loss to USC(e) in a tight game would be within reason, but an outright inability to perform should open eyes.

LSU is not losing this Saturday brother. You can take that to the bank.

Football is first and foremost a form of entertainment. Ironically, our team doesn't entertain the fanbase with their offense. Things need to be changed on that side of the ball, and if you can't admit it, then you're living in denial and you're part of the problem.
Wins, loses aside, what people really want is a team that their proud of. A team that shows character, heart, ingenuity, guts, talent, etc...
If fans spend most of their time complaining about the team, then it's not the fans that are the problem, it's the product, or lack there of.

I have a good feeling. I know Spurrier is a 'guru' but CLM, for whatever reason, fares well enough against the gurus. If they can handle SCar and A&M they have a shot at UA. Obviously not a very good one, but much like 2010, maybe the team puts it all together as a special gift to UA.

I am not a big Miles fan when it comes to football philosophy and strategy, but that doesn't mean I won't be cheering just as loud Saturday night. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

"Very good" is a stretch at this point.

I agree...I would rather lose and be able to say "wow that offense was fun to watch" than win the game. I'm sure the players feel the same way.

I can promise you those coaches and young men put way more effort into winning than you do supporting.

WOW!!! REALLY??? Why don't you ask Baylor, Texas Tech, University of Houston and other high powered offenses what all that's gotten them over the past 10 years. I'm sure they would rather score lots of points than have LSU's football program.

I agree with most of this, but when will we be able to field an offense that plays equal to the talent we put on the field? I think most are just looking for some sort of effort to get this offense on track. You stated where our Defense ranks and how good we are on that side of the ball, but what are we doing to get the offense on par with the defense.
FWIW, Im not a Miles hater and I know that we cant win it every year, but I do expect coaches to make adjustments to the gameplan and we have yet to see that. That seems to be where all of the hostility stems from.
Ditto Chuck. I've always liked Les and always will. But, the offense needs some different looks. Running up the middle with 9 in the box on a consistent basis is just not giving our guys the best chance to succeed. Obviously injuries have not helped and the penalties and turnovers have compounded the issue.
