'12 Gausman 12-2, 2.77ERA, 135k in 123 2/3ip, .229opp. avg.
'13 Nola 12-1, 1.57ERA, 122k in 126ip, .188opp. avg.
'14 Nola 11-1, 1.47ERA, 134k in 116ip, .172opp. avg.

I'd love to see another year with stats like that from 1 guy.

Friday has been an automatic for 3 straight years. That's sick numbers. Wow

Nola was such a beast. Marshall would have been that guy, but he didn't have the chest

Marshall was maybe the 3rd best of the freshman pitchers during the fall.

Hell you shouldn't even need the stats to prove it. Knowing you only have to score a few runs every Friday to get a W is a good feeling.

I have very high expectations for Lange and Latz.

I don't think anyone will come close to Nola though, he was just plain filthy and had the old ball.

Stat I heard on Sports today before the season:

In Friday night games only that Nola and Gausman started, LSU was 44-6 in those games. That's mind blowing.

Not trying to be a negative arse here but I think this team will have a lot of growing pains with pitching this year. I see tons of potential with the young guys. They're going to be special the question is when? I could see this team getting super hot at the end of the season when it matters and make a run at Omaha or just tank it due to inexperience with the young guys.

I think Omaha expectations are a little high even with our experienced bats. It will depend on how fast the younger bullpen develops and if our previous pitching class has developed any. If we make it to Supers I'll be very happy this year.

Nola was a rare special talent. I don't think we're going to see someone that dominant for awhile.

Don't need stats to tell me we've been spoiled by those 2...

They were and are GREAT.

I think there will probably be a lack of consistency. I think there will be times when Poche and Lange are dominant and times when they struggle. The great thing about Nola and Gausman was that they brought it nearly every time they stepped on the mound. Friday night has been absolutely on lockdown for 3 years. I think we're going to miss that.

I dont get the Poche doubt people have. He handled his business as a Saturday guy in the SEC last year. He averaged 7.1 Innings per start last year and has his fastball sitting at 91 this year. Hes going to be really good.

I actually heard that exactly from someone on the team. Lange and Latz both have better stuff.

The guy I see as closest to Nola physically is Norman. His fastball has great movement and as with Nola he seems to have the "throws too many strikes" freshman problem.
