It was a comment that was so far from reality, that there isn't any other explanation. Also, I bet you cannot find another example of her saying anything like that about a white coach.
10 years at 3/4 of million dollars for absolutely no championships or even competing for a championship. Staley knows that fans don't win you ballgames, and the reason Fargas FINALLY got let go was because she wasn't winning enough games.
The comment was a racial shot at LSU fans for supporting Mulkeys team more than Fargas. Just call it what it is.

Hell no. Fargus was flat out the laziest coach I have ever witnessed. She has noone to blame but herself.

Bingo! Anyone trying to spin it another way is either trolling or just plain stupid. Had Kim said this about a white coach who was replaced by a black coach, the national media would be all over it.

I went to a Women's Basketball game Thursday night for the first time since 2005. I wanted to see our girls beat #1 in person.

TBH when I watch the video of Staley's response to Jacque Doucet's question it doesn't sound as bad as it looks on the written page. Its an odd response, for sure, and liberal South Carolina politicians taking shots at Mulkey don't help. Staley seems determined not to criticize Fargas or give Mulkey credit.

You may have more of a point if it wasn’t for her history of being a full time activist when she isn’t coaching. Do a little research on Staley— that’s kind of her thing is seeing black and white 100% of the time and that’s a shame.
I wish it wasn’t like that—sports should have stayed completely out of politics but that’s the reality and it doesn’t make things better by pretending activist like Staley dont have that side to them.

On a side note, The LSU fans have a history of wanting to win and supporting winners. Sue Gunter, Pokey Chatman, Van Chancellor all were very different from each other but all were supported. Dawn Staley is wrong in her assessment.
