Why? It makes no sense at all.

Look up Caden Durham’s career college stats. Look up Berry’s. Look up their HS stats.

Now do Gage. Now look at what they play like on the field in HS and college.

How and why?

They’ve said they like his pass pro. Berry needs to figure it out because Durham seems buried

Personally I don’t see him do anything Durham can’t do. Durham has his faults but he has made some huge plays in his career. And Berry is clearly way more talented than Gage. I’d rather the upside of Durham and Berry than the nothingness of Gage

What has he done in pass pro that makes this point matter at all?

That pass pro excuse is so weak to me. QB is under constant pressure regardless, at least Durham and Berry can take dump off passes for first downs

I agree Gage isn’t great.

But Durham doesn’t look like the same guy to me.

You HAVE to get Berry involved and take advantage of what he can do.

Berry needs more opportunities to prove himself. He’s a five-star running back, and if we don’t get him on the field, Frank Wilson could lure him away. Before long, Berry might be playing for Ole Miss.

Berry played against 5'7" DT's and DE's in high school. And, some people peak in high school. Doesn't matter how many stars you have beside your name.

Ok well, Durham played against the top level of comp in Texas, was one of the fastest HS seniors in the country, and was the best Freshman RB in the conference 2 years ago.

But now he sucks…. mmk.

I wasn't talking about Durham. I was talking about Berry. If Durham was the fastest senior in HS, I guess he was one those I was talking about that "peaked" in HS.

Thats fine and makes sense if he’s the passing down/3rd down back but if Jones ever gets knicked i’d like to see Berry elevated. He’s a more explosive runner. Durham probably only has value if there’s a long term injury, but i don’t see him doing too well behind this offensive line.

We currently do not have a 2 headed monster rushing attack I hope we gave CD or Berry a go because Gage is bringing nothing to the game.

We saw both Berry and Durham last year. Neither was very good, but neither was their OL.

A new coach comes in and has “tryouts”. Apparently neither guy showed much and Gage showed more.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Now we have played three games. Nothing is static. Could Gage lose his spot? Sure and I suspect Kiffin would make the move if warranted.

Durham had a couple big runs 2 years ago.

He hasn’t broken a tackle since.

And he’s lost some speed since the foot injury.

I'd bet one or both of Berry and Durham will be in Oxford next year with Frank. Best believe he mentioned it to them last night.

Yeah, we actually need every RB on our roster in the backfield at the same tim to stop the flood of opposing LBs and DLs from accosting the our QBs and RBs in the backfield.
