SQ: If Etling is that good - wouldn't the coaches have seen it in practice?

How in the world did BH beat him out for the starting job?

Serious question so if your reply is going to be a juvenile response then don't bother posting. Anyone with any inside info?

Some people just aren't that great in practice but turn it on in the games. I don't know if that is the case here but it does happen.

I don't necessarily think Harris beat him out. I think Miles wanted to go with the guy that he perceived knew the offense better

Miles has tunnel vision. Harris was going to be the starter no matter what.

Your thought process is flawed from the very beginning.

Harris is fantastic at practice. Once the pressure is on in a real game situation, he is below average. Same curse for Jefferson unfortunately.

Honestly I seriously question coaches qb evaluation all around no matter. I however am sure the guy that chooses the starter also recruits and teaches them.

Les miles can't develop a qb

Practice is different than games

less pressure, more time to get your feet right, etc

also the coaches probably do want Harris to be the guy just because he is more physically gifted than Etling

It is likely that there isn't a ton of separation between them in practice and the coaches just stuck with the guy who had been in the program longer and was the incumbent. It is seldom more complicated than that.

There was never a legit competition....I believe Miles had his starter before any of the practices started. It is this kind of stubboness that will cost him his job.

I have a lot of inside info. I am Cam Cameron, have worked with Les for 4 years now and have known him almost my entire life. So, the inside scoop....turns out Ole Leslie is not a very good football coach. At practice he mostly just off eating grass by himself and clapping at plays he imagines is happening on the field. He leaves the scouting of on field talent to myself and Dave, but as it turns out...I too am not a very good coach. On the brightside we'll both be looking for a new gig in about 5 months, if you have any leads send em over to camcameron@lsu.edu

Cheers

I believe etling would have been just as good or if not better than Harris, hence the early change against Jsu. But I imagine it would be hard for a coach to justify dropping a 2 year starter for a Purdue transfer without giving Harris at least a game.

You people are fools if you think that Etling is tearing it up in practice and Miles's stubbornness is what kept him from playing.
