While it might light a fire Under Miles, it's not like he had given up. LSU is recruiting better than ever and from the looks of it he wanted young blood last season with Aranda. If anything it seems Alleva is the one that finally pulled his head of his arse.

Do really believe that Frank's was the only kid that had potential to jump ship? Lose two 5 star instate guys and see what happens to that ranking that you're hanging your hat on.
Nothing is "built" until a signature is signed.
It's all a process til that time.

The reigns on the "process" got tightened up in November.
Be happy about it.

Smart guy there makinbacon. I'm glad you happened along.

Just so you know:

reign= the period during which a sovereign rules

rein= a long, narrow strap attached at one end to a horse's bit, typically used in pairs to guide or check a horse while riding or driving

No it wasn't; that is complete 100% BS spin. Especially when it comes to recruiting. Les and staff had all of the pieces in place to finish with the No. 1 class through October, when the team was No. 2 in the country.

Stability is good for football programs, especially recruiting. Threatening to fire your programs most successful coach during a 10*-win season was not a good thing.

Franks is a poor example because that Florida stuff started last summer.

We've lost that in the past and we were just fine.

More than half fanbase wanted Les gone just a few weeks ago.
Fwiw, I wasn't one of those, but you've lost your fricking mind if you believe stability is more important than results. That's a miss state/Dan Mullen approach.
Be stable and win 7-8-9 games a year. Everybody in Starkville is happy.
LSU isn't miss state.

LSU hasn't been getting the results on the field that many here expect and want.
Every person working for a paycheck can get too comfortable.
It was good thing what happened, there's zero bs spin at all here.

That was a pretty weak effort in an attempt to reply.
Actually it was terrible, doesn't even make sense.

Look

Your original assertion that LSU is getting the #1 class because the staff was scared for their jobs is what is retarded.

This class has nothing to do with what happened at the end of November. If anything it made thier job harder.

The staff has had the pieces in place before and failed to finish miserably. Remember the 5 for 5 a few years ago. This is also a balanced class for once meaning it's not all WR's DB's and TE's. We finally get some LB's and DL's at the real need positions. You don't really need a lot of 5 star WR's when you throw 17 times a game. It does pump up the rating though.

Congrats to Steele and O for getting some momentum started early after they replaced lazy Chavis and Second Place Haley. This class would not be what it is if Les had his way and rehired those two recruiting duds.

He also hit a homer with Aranda and with the talent currently in-state it should be terrific the next couple of years.

But before bowing before the genius of Les it's a fact that the most important new pieces of the recruiting puzzle were forced on him.

FIFY. The vast majority of the fan base wanted Miles to stay(including you). TD posters is a minuscule sample size of LSU's fanbase and typically does not coincide with the thousands of alumni and others who truly love the school and athletic programs.

Good god dude.
I was saying that the pressure felt hS helped, which it did.

You guys take things to extremes on here and seen to enjoy putting words in other posters mouths.

So what should have Les done? Fired Chavis? That is what you are suggesting.

Of course it did.

That was a very complacent and comfortable coaching staff that thought they were untouchable and protected by Les. Letting JC walk and getting rid of Haley helped get things moving again.

And people touting those previous classes need to explain the holes on LSU's team over the last few years when recruiting has been so great. It's not just at QB. Just compiling recruiting stars does not measure a class if you don't meet your needs.

That and they actually re-recruited their draft eligible players this time.

Well, I wouldn't want to put words in your mouth, so let's make the record clear.

The job security issue has led to Cam getting on the field and out of the booth, and Miles hiring an elite commodity up-and-comer at DC, something he usually isn't prone too.

Also I think Miles has been more transparent since all the mess which I think is great for the fans.
