People actually listen to sports talk radio during the day? That’s the most fascinating thing. And the fact they’re passionate about it.

The threat IMO is the podcast world that is growing. Very much like what culotta does

Yep. Getting rid of T Bob would be an instant improvement. At least a little bit more tolerable.

Cullotta is all I listen to now that Hanny is gone. The rest is terrible.

104.5 radio now without Jordy:

Musso: Jeremy, remember that time that y'all drove 99 yds in the 4th to beat Arkansas?

Hill: Yeah

Musso: That was awesome. Oh, also, Mike Bianco will 100% be the next LSU baseball coach.

I was pulling for Musso and Mario to succeed but when you’re doing a show that’s 99% LSU talk and you don’t know who Nacho Albergamo and Erik Andolsek are then maybe it’s time for Guaranty Media to go back to the drawing board.

Thanks for the examples and in-depth analysis. Will definitely read again to make sure I didn't miss anything the first time.

It’s freaking horrible

I was a solid 5 hour a day listener for 4-5 days a week for a while. During COVID I got excited because I could stream more during the day without interruption working from home but now, I may listen 2 hours total a week. Im more old school and more of a content guy so Sports Today was always my favorite show. Hanny is just my type of guy...no schtick, knows his stuff, willing to listen to others opinions and not just try to convice everyone he is right, admits and discusses when he's wrong.

A lot of the listening base are still older folks hopping in their cars to and from work. They’re not all that interested in streaming YouTube to catch a show

Now eventually they’ll be in the minority but we’re probably still a ways out.

I Was a regular listener of the morning show and afternoon with Hanny/Otter, but I have finally switched to Cullota's podcast and haven't looked back.

What is Hanny doing now?

And FYI today with Hester and hill was/is very good.

I turned it on during my commute this AM, and Hester started talking about how the feeling about the LSU QB job is that Max is starting to distance himself from Myles... Backed it up by saying he hasn't been to practice or talked to the coaches, just that you get that feeling.

I immediately turned it off. What are you talking about? Literally nobody has that feeling. Its 100% Myles job, he was the clear cut better QB last year. Everything else is just posturing to make sure Max doesn't transfer.

T-Bob and Hester can be entertaining at times, but there actual takes on sports are pretty terrible. Its mostly just sunshine pumping, especially Hester. T-Bob actually did some pretty solid breakdowns of film during the season, but he's so out of his element talking about baseball and basketball.

Hanny was the best, far and away. Much more knowledgeable about LSU sports than any of the others, and he had interesting takes on everything, especially LSU football.

I got the feeling Hester didn't like working with Hanny, maybe because Hanny had much more knowledge and experience.

With Hester, they could be talking about a sponsor who sells sliders, and he would say, "I remember having sliders one day with Phillip Rivers." If it was a Monday show, "In one Monday night game, I had to block Ray Lewis." If it was raining outside, "And there was the game when I caught a pass from Peyton Manning while it was raining."

T-Bob is just generally annoying and goofy.

How the hell is Jacques Doucet gonna come on the radio and talk about the Saints in the first segment when LSU is going through a baseball coaching search?
