Spoke to Mike Denbrock on the phone last night.

CSB. Last night I was at the CSU-Air Force game in the suites and struck up a conversation with the guy sitting next to me. He asked me what I thought about the snow and I told him I’m from Louisiana and I’ve never seen a football game like this. I mentioned LSU and he told me his best friend in the world is the offensive coordinator there. We talked about the atmosphere in tiger stadium and how his best friend keeps trying to get him to come see a game. I told him he should go so he said screw it I’m gonna do it. Told me as good of a coach as his friend is, he’s an even better person and he’s enjoyed watching his success down there. Didn’t think anything of it but when I got back to my seat from the bathroom he was on the phone and said “someone wants to talk to you.” It was Mike Denbrock.


I told coach how happy everyone is with the offense and tried to let him go quickly but he just kept talking to me like we were old friends. He said he plans to stick around for a bit and I said I hoped so too but that I won’t be surprised when his head coaching number is called. What a nice down to earth guy and a conversation I never thought I would have in the middle of a snowstorm. The guy I was sitting next to at the game is Kent Baer.

Right after our conversation CSU was penalized for throwing snowballs at Air Force and security moved the entire student section 15 rows up in the stands.
