Could someone with Citrus Bowl experience please offer advice for trying to park very close to the Orlando stadium? My son is mostly recovered from knee surgery a few months ago but still has trouble walking long distances. We do not have a handicap permit. Wondering if a specific reserved parking lot offered by Citrus Bowl would be a better option than Uber or taxi for 4 from Orlando hotel. He has not been able to travel or drive since surgery last May so we are making a FL roadtrip to see the Saints and Tigers as his Christmas present.

i'd call the stadium and tell them your story. i'm sure they'd be able to assist you.

We did and got inconsistent advice about which reserved lot made sense and whether or not we would need a handicap permit for special treatment. So was looking for any additional input that experienced Tiger fans could offer.

LSU Alumni Group of Central Florida
, we have $20 parking about 3/10 of a mile from Citrus Bowl and there is a pedi-cab service at the site

LINK Not sure about any other arrangements you might make.

You can buy a parking pass for the handicapped lot and park real close to the stadium.

You wont get any special treatment without a handicap tag. Best bet is buy a parking pass from stubhub or similar.

The stadium is in the middle of the ghetto so hopefully you find something secure and close by.

Our alumni tailgate parking is secure according to the venue at the brewery.

It's turrible. For anybody going, plan to be long gone before security leaves.

Imagine a stadium at Evangeline and N. Foster.

Absolutely correct. The area surrounding the stadium is quite bad. There are private parking lots around it but, they are very sketchy.

If he is able to get into a city bus, you can park downtown, and take the shuttle. It’s about 10 blocks. I’ve done it that way. The drawback was after the game, there was a massive line to get back to your car. Lots of standing for a long time.

I would probably try to arrive early and score a space in a private lot. Just be careful and don’t leave anything in your car during the game. It will be gone when you return.

Crime in Orlando is terrible. It’s our dirty little secret.

What part of town do you live in and how long have you been in Orlando?

Hotel shuttles may be an option.

I grew up in Baton Rouge and it's nowhere close to being like that. There are sketchy areas just like in other cities around many venues in bigger cities. However once again LSU Central Florida Alumni of which I am a member has a tailgate AND SECURE parking for $20 we welcome all Tiger fans to cone join us... LINK

You must spend a lot of time on OBT, stay away from the crackheads and you will be fine.

Hey BooDroux, I just looked at the area that the Bar is in and it looks good. The last time I went to the stadium I came up OBT to Church St. It is a third world country on OBT. I stopped to get something to eat and had kids appear out of nowhere, like cockroaches, trying to sell drugs.

It is damned similar to Plank road. Had I been more familiar with the area I would have gotten off I-4 by the Amway Arena. I hope to see you again on game day.

We bought a Pass last year for the lot at Rio Grande and W South off Stubhub (or ParkWhiz) for like $30. It’s literally across the street from the stadium.

Agreed. I lived in Orlando for 11 years.

If he is available to get a ride from a nearby lot via bus or something, it's very easy to get back on the interstate or even the 408. Keep in mind the 408 is a toll road and it runs east/west but you can still find your way with gps on your phone.

This is straight up the damn truth. We went for the Penn State game there a few years back. Ended up parking in a nearby hotel cash lot that I swear was run by the Russian mob. These cats running this place weren’t to be screwed with. No way this game can ever be held at night. Would need the national guard down there getting people out of the area.
