Ole Miss & Tulane are our traditional rivals.
True
quote:
&M is somewhat of a regional rivalry, and Arkansas is a contrived rivalry with its own trophy.
Not really, though the boot trophy was developed to try to push that rivalry.
Arkansas and LSU were traditional rivals early in the previous century, playing yearly from 1906 to 1936, but only playing 6 more times between then and 1966, and not again until Arkie joined the SEC in 1992. The games from 1913 to 1936 were played in Shreveport
A&M played each other in spurts with several runs of around consecutive years playing, then consecutive years not playing. 1942-1949, 1955-1956, 1950-1975, 1986-1995, then not again in the regular season until they joined the SEC in 2012.
Neither was a regional or organic rivalry, in reality.

I’m pretty sure that during the 60’s - 80’s , the week of the Ole Miss game was called “Hell Week “ at LSU . But that kind of went away the last15-20 yrs.

I can tell you it was still a thing in 1980.

In the 60’s and early 70’s the home game before ole miss, as the tiger fans were exiting the stadium the whole crowd chanted “go to hell ole miss”. Going down the ramps.
And it was meant literally

Also, “ back in the day “, Ole Miss fans would religiously end the singing of their Alma mater , with a very vigorous “ Go to hell LSU “ !!!

We Tiger fans who remember the 60's and before have always looked at Ole Miss as a hated rival. Do you not know the tradition of yelling GTHOM, GTH? This was often yelled the other team and their fans at every LSU game no matter who we were playing. So just repeat GTHOM, GTH! Great tradition!

Ole Miss has always been LSU's biggest SEC rival.
When they are winning, the Ole Miss fan base is insufferable.
