Never saw them as a rival in my lifetime yes I see the old arse Halloween clips. As I grew up in the eighties and nineties we sucked pretty bad. In my eyes it’s always been Florida and Bama. Recently I guess A$M.

Nope. They are just as insignificant as ever. LSU will resume beating them like a red headed step child just like they’ve always done.

Yea "hate" is more appropriate. "Resent" implies a sense of grudging respect; our relationship with Alabama is like that. There's no respect in hatred-- it's just loathing.

Ole Miss has been a rival for decades. Season records do not dictate whether or not someone is a rival.

Auburn has been trash for years. Do you think the Iron Bowl is no longer a rivalry?

To be a rival both teams have to win one of every three years.
If one dominates it is just a hate from the loser.

And? In my lifetime no one of my generation gave a shite about them. They sucked arse other than 1 year with Cutcliff and 2 years with Freeze over the 40 years since they were a “rival”. Until Lane Train arrived and they became something other than a cute story when they do well.

To OP’s question, now it will be a major rivalry, but after a few years of stomping their sorry asses, I doubt it’s a big game on our end. It will become the trap game it’s always been in my lifetime, similar to Arkansas. A team our opponent sees as their Super Bowl, but one we need to try to get up for.
