Look at this stupid fck defending the pathetic package.

yep, and unless i missed something, he flunked math because 6 chairs means its for 6 people so, assuming he was talking about just the bare empty tent "economy" package, his math says $600 divided by 6 equals $20

Well, the capitalism is the part where people either pay for these services or do not pay for these services. See, if nobody uses the tents, the business will either have to lower their prices/change their packages until consumers want to pay -or- the business will not want to operate there because it cannot make sales. Capitalism says the business can be there and it will only stay if people use it.
This thread is an expression of capitalism. People talking about how something is a ripoff is not hating capitalism.

So nice try but not quite.

Since you obviously do not understand capitalism and even if by age alone are an adult to some extent who lives in the USA, why do you hate capitalism? Or why do you hate America?

I'm waiting to see if it turns out student clubs or university departments are paying for some of these.

It's one thing if a baller (like an injury lawyer or Riverside towing owner) feels like blowing cash on it. But if the university is begging the legislature for money, then departments are turning around and buying this overpriced crap by playing budget games, that would be a collegiate level lesson in LA corruption.

So, we walked over there for the SELU game. The tents in your pic were set up for walk up customers. They went unused the entire day. That big tent in the background was the Block Party promotional tent. That’s all their own employees.

It was lame as frick and this week they fenced off even more unused areas so no one can tailgate there. It’s really unreal.

Why are you putting so much time and effort into trying to make a point in response to someone’s smart-arse comment?

I’d never use Blockparty. But clearly someone does since they’re here.

If they can’t make $$ they’ll leave after this season.

ACTUAL useful info. Thanks.

I personally don't have a dog in this fight, but I do find it embarrassing how many discussions on here are essentially whining about having to pay for something, or why the college football players/students aren't winning enough games to make them happy, or why they have to pay for the good parking, or why they aren't loved enough...

The Block Party experiment might actually fail, but there isn't much of a nuanced discussion on anything on the rant.

the free market requires competition. There's no competition here - Alleva has a monopoly.

The LSU administration wants them here, but the fans may feel very differently. From an Advocate article back in May (and the company isn't even from here - they are out of Dallas):

"Officials declined to provide the financial terms of the contract, though Blockparty CEO Adam Ward said the partnership will last a minimum three seasons.

School and company officials say the move won’t displace any existing tailgaters."

Correct. This is more like communism.

Corporate greed has changed the landscape of tailgating. No wonder more people are staying home to watch the game while seats are being filled with less enthusiastic fans who got their tickets from a corporate sponsor.

According to your math that puts 45 people under your $900 rental tent.

Are you one of those clowns that thinks change is always good? Who wants to pay for that mediocre food and a lousy tent?
