Why not? The WR's are said to be the most talented position on offense.

Slinger at La Tech:
Season.... Offense rank.... Run/pass rank.... Run-pass split
1988................NA.....................NA.......................45-55

Slinger at Georgia
Season.... Offense rank.... Run/pass rank.... Run-pass split
1993................19th...................93rd/8th..................44-56

You talking about the same guy you swore up and down wasn’t going to be the new OC at LSU and it was just “rant myth?”

That “Slinger?”

yeah looking at passing and rushing stats tells you what plays they ran.

Looking at the number of rushing and passing plays tells you that Cameron ran way more than 50% of the time.

We actually ran out of the I way less than people remember.

He ran 12 and 21 and I wouldnt say spread, but lined up in the gun with 3 and 4 wrs.

Just go back and watch 2013 and 2015

The facts, according the posters in this thread, is that Cameron ran the I formation ONLY 42% of the time. When the I was popular teams didn’t run I 42% of the time.

Can you tell us what the cut off age is when you're no longer allowed to learn new things please? Can you also explain how it makes sense in your head that a guy that's been coaching most of his life can't learn new wrinkles or philosophies?

It's not like he's learning a completely new sport. I'm confident that the man hasn't forgotten how to coach.

Like I said In the second part of my post I am Not saying he can’t, but its fricking dumb to hire an OC with 0 experience coaching in the offense you want to run.

I also Don’t believe we’re really running a true spread offense. I just Think O is just saying what he thinks we want to hear or what he thinks we’re doing.

You can say that all you want but what you can’t say is where Steve Ensminger has ever coached a spread offense. You’re high IQ knows that.

Literally the first play of Ensminger as interim OC in 2016 was 4 WR, 1 RB.

That’s not a fricking spread offense

Just lining up with 4 wide isn't the fricking spread.

No, it's not. It's lining up in Shotgun formation or Ace.

Eta: Every offense has them, even the Les Miles offense.

Is this Jefferson running the spread offense?

First off, calm down. You're a little emotional.
Secondly, check those links. There are different variations of a spread offense.

I don't know what has to do with the fact that he called more pass plays than run plays during two seasons with two different teams but yes that Slinger.

“I told him, ‘Dad, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and something you know you can do. You always say you want to do more for this school — here’s your chance.’ ”

I know But read that article, the air raid may look like a west coast offense in a lot of ways but it’s also stripped down and simplified.

If your still asking your QB to make the same reads a pro QB makes it’s no better just because you’re in the shotgun

The biggest advantage spread offenses have in college is that they are simple Enough for players to pick up fast.

It’s just funny watching you refer to him as “slinger” everywhere on this board after you obviously thought it wouldn’t be a great hire since you were saying there was no way he was gonna be OC. That tune sure changed fast!

I just read today about Ensminger simplifying things for the offense, leaving the same personnel on the field but changing the formations, etc.

So again, Ensminger called spread plays already 2 years ago here at LSU. You can stop your narrative that he's never done this before. It's old and inaccurate.

He’s never run a full spread offense.

Saying he ran “spread plays” from a pro style playbook means nothing

And honestly the 2016 offense didn’t work when it was really tested. We couldn’t move the ball vs Bama and we couldn’t score in the red zone vs Florida.

This needs to be something different.

He was also the most dedicated White Knight for Matt Canada last offseason any time anyone even remotely questioned the hire. "ONLY OFFENSIVE COACH NOMINATED FOR THE BROYLES AWARD!!!!!" That tune also VERY quickly changed.
