Beloso is really the only player in the lineup that has proven he can hit SEC pitching well, and do it with pop. Other guys could possibly surpass him, I’m sure Crews will, but you know what you have in Beloso. When they put all those shifts on him last year, he went the other way with it. He’s a decently rounded hitter. Given enough games he has to run his share of balls out of the yard. I’d actually like to see him do a little more first pitch fastball hunting that it looks like he got away from.

Youngstown Friday/Saturday, Nicholls in the second game Saturday then again Tuesday.
Youngstown and Nicholls play Friday afternoon in Thibodaux so my thinking is that with us being Youngstown’s third game in two days it would be the better of the two to experiment.

10-4.
I 100% saw a graphic last night vs ULL with Nichols being on the schedule for a double header. But it's my fault for believing any graphic that production team showed.

His power numbers are definitely down. He has a very flat swing, which isn't a bad thing. He just doesn't seem to have an lift on the ball even when he makes solid contact.

Don’t we play Nichols twice in a double header this weekend? Would be a great chance to tinker and let kids get full game experience.
Would be the perfect games to do it.
Get Hampton, Travinski, Drost, and Wyeth some quality playing time.
But you already know people who are requesting it will be furious and want to fire paul on the spot for doing it

We have a double dip Saturday with Youngstown and Nichols

We have seen 100 more pitches through 4 games than we did at the same point last season.
Indiana had better pitchers than we’ve seen so far, but I feel like there are other things going on.
I’m not going to draw any conclusions right now, but it’s a trend I will keep an eye on.

We are moving in the right direction. I won’t lie after the AF loss, I was very concerned.

9. RH C Alex Milazzo rotating with RH C Jake Wyeth
Serious question, why does everyone want to see Wyeth be the guy that rotates with Milazzo and not Tranvinski?
I don't know much about Wyeth other than that he's a Juco guy that started out at Baylor.
If I remember correctly wasn't Travinski one of the top catchers in the country coming out of high school?
Again, not a knock on Wyeth. Just trying to see if there's something I'm missing or don't know.

In a nutshell, it's defense.

Travinski is coming off of an injury, and wasn't as good of a defensive catcher as Milazzo or Wyeth. I want to see Travinski get some swings, too. I want to see them all get some swings.

Yea it would be ideal for him to get some playing time. The way I see it, Wyeth is a Jr and Milazzo will likely be gone after his Jr year then it'll be Travinski's job to lose unless they plan on having him play somewhere else.
It would just be nice to have a guy ready to be a starter when his time comes rather than have a big ? next to his name and not hope for a Juco or Fr to come in a hold it down.

I believe we have a few really good catchers coming in next season.

I believe we're facing 3 LH starters this weekend. Might not see Drost as quickly as we'd like to, unless it's in place of Sanford or when one of the starters gets run.
