IMO, we need changes in coaching. We need better hitting and pitching and more fire on this team , in addition to better coaching decisions .

Getting to supers would be a win at this point. Can see this team easily getting knocked out in regionals

Fire Beth Torina. The program has become stagnant. Time to clean house.

This program been in a steady decline the last few years. This team not very good in any aspects.

I don't think the Head Coach is competitive enough and winning is not a priority for her. Her team plays like she looks...........soft

The Clever Dick Duo are some creepy mofos and a distraction to the ladies. They should not be that close to the action.

Those Davidson girls have been there for 3 presidencies.

A lot of Sec schools with below average resources have passed LSU up.

Agree, 357, I cannot see this team making any serious run in post season play. They just simply don’t have it. Very disappointing game…

I was worried about that having an affect on the incoming class and the possible transfers. But at this moment it is hard to care.

Simply not competitive because of poor recruiting by Torina and staff... suspect pitching, hitting, and fielding have led to the decline of the program over the past few years!

I don't know if getting rid of Torina is the right or wrong move, but in general, holding onto a sinking coach because of the next recruiting class is always a bad move.

There are always more recruits.

They tied for 4th in the conference with the only team ahead of them that’s not a traditionally strong program being Arkansas. Arkansas also finished ahead of Alabama and Florida. Should those programs also fire their coaches?

Peterson’s bat is a real issue, her lack of being able to put a simple bunt down is really bad. Peterson has above average defense but her bat is so bad it is a liability.

LSU got lucky with Mississippi State giving them runs in that last series, they didn’t give them any errors this game. The walks were still there but the hitters were not able to get hits way too many times this game when they got the gift walks. Pleasants and Clark looked completely lost out there over the last week. Really too bad, this team has the talent just can’t finish games out. This game should have been over when we had runners at first and second with nobody out in the 8th, three strikeouts in a row after that is completely unacceptable. Coaches jobs should really be looked at after this season is over at this point.

The decline is only relative to the peak that Torina achieved that no previous LSU coach had. The last few years have been as good as just about any other period in LSU softball history. Sunseri and Wickersham regressed as pitchers, but the other phases of the game are strong this year. Torina has developed pitchers before so I wouldn’t necessarily lay that on coaching. The only fault I see is her being too loyal and not recognizing soon enough that she needed to focus on recruiting pitchers to replace them. She has 3 of the top 4 or 5 pitching prospects in the incoming class. She should have done that last year.

Relax. She won't be fired and will get the chance to continue on this current path with her new prized pitchers next season. As far as I am concerned this season is over after 2 or 3 more games and will just have to wait until February 2023 for hopefully better than what I saw this season

Agree, with the resources that LSU has and has invested in the program ,we should have a competitive team that battles in the top quarter of the SEC, not this .

The team has been progressively getting worse over the last years. It is clear that changes have to be made ; better now for the next year than prolonging the situation for more years of subpar performances.

No, she won’t be fired. I’m not ready to write this team off just yet. They have been up and down all season. The COVID season interrupted the development of a lot of the players on the team, so they are still relatively inexperienced. They are capable of bouncing back and playing at a level like they did against Alabama and Georgia. I don’t necessarily expect a WCWS berth, but they could challenge if they get hot at the right time. I’m most worried about Kilponen at this point.
