Apparently both coaches would have played this morning but the NCAA wants it played later. Can't say the coaches didn't try because they sure did.
typical NCAA BS. sigh. let them play while we can.

They should of started at 7:00 yesterday morning.

McNeese played late into the night on Saturday. You can't ask them to show back up at 7 AM to play after that.

I mean LSU yesterday at one point was freaking out that we wouldn't get in any games and would be left with no opportunity to advance.

Imagine tRant if the roles were reversed. I'd be raising hell.
Why?
Anybody that has any background in baseball or softball knows that there are tie breakers in case of weather in every tournament.
The tiebreakers are written down, and given to every coach so that in the event of a weather problem, etc.; there is a way to determine a winner.
The rules aren't made up during the tournament.
In this case the NCAA has elected to give an advantage to the higher seeded team if 6 games are played and the 7th can not be played. They just didn't make this up.
Is it fair? Sure its fair because no one knew who the teams would be when the rule was written.
USL knew the rule prior to last night's game. They had a chance to do something last night, but lost. It's not like this is a huge surprise, and I'd bet with all the travel ball these kids play, tiebreakers have happened at one time or another to all these players and they understand how these things work way better than we do.

Could have played yesterday morning...nope. they could be playing now. Nope.
The NCAA rep calling shots isn't big on common sense.

now, let me take this a step further...what about runs scored in head-to-head in this tournament? looks to me that LSU has more overall runs than U-La-La...
on top of that, all they had to do last night was win and there would be no argument!!!
old army saying...s@@@ happens

Why go further?
We have a tiebreaker in place.

Mcneese had a much later night due to weather. It wouldn't have been fair to do it really early for them them the next day. Also NCAA rules doesn't allow you to play 3 times in a day. Its a tough situation really for all parties.

Looks like Accuweather has the best window for playing the game from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. but they may get going in the 4 p.m. hour only to get stopped mid-game.

and rightfully so. they need to settle it on the field.

Gotta account for getting the field ready and teams warming up too.
The grounds crew did one hell of a job yesterday. After the torrential downpours ended around 6:45, and then it rained lightly til about 7:15, they had that field ready to go at 8:30.

to those guys.
No doubt, field conditions were not a factor in the game at all which is somewhat amazing considering the pounding that field took the last couple of days with more to come.

Exactly what I was gonna say...as a cajun fan we will probably be screwed out of the arse by not playing this game today and yes we will be pissed cause y'all will be handed the regional...

Handed? No
Won based on the predetermined guidelines? Yes
Posted on 5/22/17 at 10:44 am to Softballfan1909
And yes everyone keeps saying there are tiebreakers in place. If the ncaa wants to let a team continue in the postseason because of a tiebreaker when neither team has won their way to it is extremely pathetic. Yes everyone is saying we had a chance to close it out and didn't last night but still...we lost one game in a double elimination tournament and this is postseason
Posted on 5/22/17 at 10:45 am to Mulerider
Yes handed because the ncaa refused to move the game up yesterday or today when they can be played
Posted on 5/22/17 at 10:51 am to Softballfan1909
Bet you wouldn't be bitching if we didn't get our games in yesterday and yall were handed a free pass..
