Do you mean people are no longer fans of Woodward or LSU? Huge difference.

If you were an LSU fan and aren’t now solely because WW was fired then you are the definition of “Bandwagon.” We don’t need bandwagons.

I liked Wade and think he was just about the best we could realistically ask for in basketball. That being said, Woodward would have to be a complete buffoon to go to war with the NCAA over basketball. Wade had to go and the few fans that are still crying about it will fall in line if CBK pulls football out of the ditch and CJJ gets it together in baseball.

I don’t understand the point of the OP.

Wade fans were LSU Basketball fans. We were prior to Wade and will be going forward.

I’m a Wade fan, but he really put Woodward in a tight spot with his sloppiness

Bingo, SW was not going to sacrifice his job, reputation, and LSU to keep afloat a sport that doesn’t create the $$$ that football does. If firing WW looks like it helped for penalties against football then we will all know in due time. But if he knows about the football’s programs dirty laundry and he does and did this so these problems will get overlooked a little then he’s doing a bigger disservice to the people involved with that problem. SW is an AD and a politician of athletics, and in the end all politicians are out for themselves and family first no matter what they spat. So long story short, basketball is not football and the heads know it’s easier to build back the former from scratch than the latter. Mulky has and will continue to ascend WBB to a point where we have seldom been, but in the end MBB is still more relevant on a National level than WBB will ever be, but in the end Football trumps them all, it’s the golden child, the cash cow. We will be “good “ again in MBB but us fans of basketball not just LSU, know they WW was a different cat and was definitely going to build us into a SEC consistently winning program. It kills my soul because I love b-ball and especially LSU b-ball, but most LSU fans will cheer and watch when we’re winning but could care less and not watch if we’re are pre WW. Probably SW and Higher ups feel the same way.

No he didn’t, football fans don’t give a shite about basketball

I disagree … I love LSU football and LSU basketball. Notice I stated ‘LSU’ because I support the Tigers regardless of who the coach or AD is. These people with the man-crush on Wade need to get over themselves. The way he handled things was an embarrassment and he had to be fired.

I don't agree. I think the very large majority assume it was needed.

Nobody really gives a shite about firing a basketball coach that was never going to ever make it to a final four. As long as Brian Kelly returns the football program to competing for a title then no one is going to give a shite about basketball.

No he hasn’t, Wade is gone. Let it go man and move on with re-energetic support of new coach.

Meh. Judging by the downvotes you are getting, 6% is not a substantial percentage. Threads like this are LOL funny. The writing was on the wall when Wade's contract was restructured allowing him to be fired for cause if the NCAA merely issued a formal notice with level 1 or 2 violations.

This is one of those threads where the up/downvote ratio really speak for themselves. Wanna know what the fans really think? Look at the ratio.

I was fully supportive of not firing Wade up until they had evidence of him using his and his wife’s personal bank accounts. I mean there is a limit to the hill you can die on for some people. The phone tap was not enough to fire him. This was. I wish it could have been different but it was due to Wade’s sloppiness

Will Wade himself agreed for the new contract terms which he knew would lead to his firing ultimately. Yet here we are all shocked and surprised when it happened. LSU fans always feel like everyone is out to get them: NCAA, SEC refs, ESPN, Divk Vitale, Pat Forde… maybe Will Wade is just to blame himself. Swallow that fact and move on. The guy couldn’t coach his 5 star recruits against top teams.

It's the fallout and the entire squad left. That was expected because they all came to LSU to play for Wade. Such bullshite.

“Woodward has lost a substantial percentage of LSU fan base”

Where is your proof of this statement-real proof?

Subjective post at best.

Rid of poison is easy part of AD job.

Rid of dumb azz fans is much harder
