What LSU player did he pay from his wife’s checking account?

Just wrong. He had a distinguished coaching record at both App St and Murray. Not power 5, but still worthy

Because in the position we were in, it was the only way for us to hire somebody.

Cause Woodward tried to “predict the weather”. He believed that NCAA was dropping hammer and needed to convince any coach he could to take a job at a school that will be on near death penalty. He was wrong and should have waited.

McMahon was the hot pezzonovante in college hoops last year.

Let's see if he can raid the portal and earn top recruits in 2023. He's not going away, so give him benefit of the doubt. Let's really see what he can do. Not every season has to be 2-17 SEC

Like being the only Murray coach to not have a winning season in 35 years and doing it twice?

Woodward has put LSU basketball back into the Jones and Johnson eras. He doesn't know basketball.

You're gonna get hammered for saying it and your phrasing maybe could have been less confrontational but it is true. There was still a lot up in the air after the NOA came out, so hiring anyone with options was going to require something to sweeten the pot.

I don't believe this is true.

Even if it was, move to your second target and give them a 4 - or 5 year deal. That is plenty long enough.

Why? Because he does not give a shite about money and has no accountability. Should have been a 4 year deal NOT 7 years. Nobody was beating down the door trying to hire this 3rd level coach.

McMahon could get an eighth year added to the deal if LSU, which received a notice of allegations from the NCAA that led to coach Will Wade's firing for cause on March 12, is hit with substantial penalties. His contract would extend to June 2030 if the program gets a postseason ban of two or more years, or has a reduction of two or more scholarships for three or more years.

Did not know this, that 7 year deal can turn into 8.

Was Woodward drunk when he negotiated this contract?

The only thing Woodward is good at is writing big checks after he pisses his pants.
