The pitching was beyond atrocious and the defense was poor.
Jay needs a lock down Friday night guy that can consistently go 7+ innings. There was no one close to that on the roster. Find better pitchers.

For me it's more than talent. The errors, walks, passed balls, wild pitches - man even teams of modest talent - what we saw in the degree of all of the above should not be excused nor rationalized.

Man, I just really don't think that's the biggest issue here. You think WW is waiting around for Verge and Rouse to give him money or raise money for him? The small slice he got from the $21 million pie ain't paying for the roster he's building.
That portion of the $21 Mil Nil allotment is only a drop in the bucket and always will be - if you are waiting on that and worried about that - that's a problem in and of itself.
Now he's doing his job trying to get more of that piece of the pie for baseball but even if he gets what he wants in that regard that's not going to fund what he wants. He's got to bring that same passion to helping himself get the rest of what he needs and not venting about what he's not getting at the coaches committee meetings. There are baseball only boosters out there for LSU, and more than at most schools.

Last time an LSU Baseball Team was this bad and missed the postseason there was a ton of infighting and locker room issues. I wonder if there was some of the same between portal guys and returning guys?

I meant then part of paying some kids to come here and they sucked arse. They’re still kids and jealousy has to have reared its ugly head at some point.
But did they also miss out on some kids because of lack of funds, most definitely.

The pitching was awful. We did not have anyone we could count on to not walk or hit batters. The starters were not reliable like the last couple years.
We were always playing from behind. We were always trying to hit homeruns at the plate resulting in strikeouts and pop pups. Passed balls/wild pitches and untimely errors and mental mistakes.
If we had shut down pitching like we did last year we would have been better, we did eventually start scoring a few runs.

They had a fight in the locker room at halftime because Jay wouldn’t play Jarrett Lee.
