So USL changed to UL in order to…

It’s said they wanted to become more nationally recognized and not be viewed as a regional university. However, they keep their sub-regional mascot name of Ragin Cajuns. You know Ragin is not even a real word, it should be Raging Cajuns. They were at one time called the Bulldogs, so they should have gone back to that when they went from USL to UL.
They are dumb and have an inferiority complex. I liked them when they were the Southwestern Louisiana Institute because it sounded like a mental institution and that was a perfect fit.

That is not exactly how it happened, but wanting to be called "Louisiana" is probably the reason the rest of the state has laughed at them.
