re: So the NCAA doesn't really make the call in Baton Rouge, do they?

A coach should not decide when a game can be played. If the weather is good, you play
And if he starts a game with an ace pitcher then loses him 4 innings in, ultimately costing him the game, fans will go crazy about the loss.
Fans forget and forgive the inconvenience if you win. They NEVER forgive losing. Jay knows that. If he can control a variable at home that he feels gives him an advantage I don’t blame him for taking it…as annoying as it may be sometimes

In college baseball, the decision to delay or call a game due to weather primarily rests with the umpiring crew chief.
Here's a breakdown of the process:
Before the game starts: The umpiring crew chief, in consultation with the grounds crew, makes the decision to delay the start of the game if weather conditions are unfavorable.
Once the game has started: The umpires, guided by the crew chief, have the authority to suspend or call the game based on safety concerns, such as heavy rain, pooling water, or lightning. The decision is based on player safety, weather forecasts, and the condition of the field.
Regulation games: A game can be called if weather or other conditions, like facility problems or crowd behavior, put players or patrons in peril, provided certain conditions regarding the game's length have been met. There should also be a reasonable waiting period (at least 30 minutes) before calling the game due to a delay.
Playoffs: In playoff games, any game that has started must be completed. If rain prevents immediate resumption, the game will be suspended and resumed the following day.
In situations involving the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Committee, the committee may reserve the right to revise game schedules due to weather, leaving the ultimate discretion to the committee itself.

It’s literally not
A future cast weather delay is currently happening in Omaha. It wasn’t raining or lightning.

Jay is a great baseball coach but the crap he pulls with weather delays is chickenshit. Anyone who says otherwise is a pussy

I’m sorry you can’t read. I said if you can’t admit it’s chickenshit then you’re a pussy

You do whatever you can to win baseball games.

Is that what you think happened in the regionals?

ESPN wanted viewers to lead into the finals regardless of weather.

Orrrr,
Everyone can just admit that Jay is behind all the postponed post season games at the Box
I’m fine with it if he is. Wish he could have made the call tonight. Then we would have Eyanson for 7 or so innings.

Which is why I never understood people bitching about weather delays with Jay. god forbid he’s doesn’t want burn one of his aces after 2-3 innings. It’s frustrating for sure, but he wants to make sure his team is in best position to win.

This is karma for all of Jay’s fake rain delays.

LSU is worth MILLIONS to college baseball. Anyone that thinks LSU doesn’t have a say in everything at home is delusional

No, its not chickenshit. It's the way baseball has done it in college and the big leagues since time immemorial.
The rule can be used both ways by the home team depending upon what is in their favor.
I can remember Tony LaRussa making a big stink about it 20+ years ago because he thought it was being abused (against his team who was starting an Ace pitcher).

There were chickenshit people 20+ years ago too

I’ll agree with this. It makes no sense for coaches to be making these decisions in any game.
