Saban is gone. I don’t think we will see that kind of run at any program any time soon. NIL and portal has leveled the field. Look at Texas Tech and other schools that spend big money. It would be stupid to fire DeBoer at this point.

I tend to agree with this, but the pay factor is in LSU favor for a long term tenure. He'd have to hire into the NFL As on of the highest paid coaches, if not the highest.

I listen to the Next Round, a Birmingham show that only talks sec

They say all the time that Bama isn’t as rich as people think and they had to beg donors to reach their NIL goal

They are tapped out and said they can afford to fire DeBoer(it’s all guaranteed), for at least 2 more years

Saban's fondness of his LSU days and the clear recommendation to Lane to take the job seem impactful to Lane. I don't think he will jump ship anytime soon.

it's Bama fans that are confident they can pull Lane

Its also Bama fans trying to convince us Bama is not interested and could have already had him if they wanted him. Supposedly despite him blahblahblah.

Regardless, I think we have a few years before he goes anywhere... IF he goes.

I may overly optimistic , which is odd for me, but I think Lane is a great fit culturally for LSU and I think he will be successful. I don’t think he’ll leave nor will we fire him. Call me crazy because I probably am, but I think Lane retires from LSU.

He won’t go to Bama. He will repeatedly say “we are staying focused on the game in front of us.” He’ll get a raise and contract extension every single year.

Lane’s image would be completely tarnished if he did that again so soon

This has already happened in his career, he was at Tenn for a year then went to USC didnt meet expectations then got fired . History does often repeat itself but hopefully not in this case.
