Indiana seems like a very good football team. I can't help but think about TCU when they got blown out 62-7 by Georgia in the national championship, though. It's probably just because it's Indiana, and it feels wrong for them to be good, but... We'll see.

Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss would beat them. 3 or so other SEC teams probably would too.

How do you know this?

OSU beat Texas beat A&M. This is stupid rose colored glasses.

The rankings are bad not the players so I still think players come first.

We will see the importance of recruiting if Indiana and Georgia play in the playoffs.
Coaching is certainly more important than talent, but to win championships it takes both. Georgia will prove that.

Can’t wait until Lane gets rolling at LSU. He will prove this as well.

Nope

We have a shite load of SEC homers still living in the past. The top of the SEC today simply is nowhere near as good as it was in the 20 or so years of dominance. The recent playoffs have proved that to be a fact and unless Georgia goes on a run it will be the same again this year because none of the others are capable.

Granted you have to have a talented team - but the key is knowingly how to coach, encourage, inspire that team.

I mean maybe Indiana is a good football team that is well coached you
Realize who they just beat right ? Ohio st is a really good football team they played to conservative tonight if they faced off again I would expect different results and They may play again!

Nobody ever said the two were mutually exclusive. Both obviously matter a great deal.

My view is it takes a certain level of talent to reach the ultimate goal of a championship. Tulane had a great season, but we all know they don’t have the talent to legitimately compete for a championship in the playoff. So the Jimmys and Joes matter.

That said, you can squander talent with poor coaching (thank you Brian for teaching us that difficult lesson). So the Xs and Os obviously matters too.

Maybe UGA. Who has TAMU beat all season? The SEC is pure shite outside of UGA.
LSU scored as many points against OU on the road as they did Western Ky AT HOME on senior night the week before. We know how bad LSU has been all season on offense (the worst in 60 years in my opinion.

Maybe not. Indiana is one of the oldest teams in college football with an average age of 23.5 years old. These are grown arse men, not kids. We’ll see if this model is sustainable going forward but I think it will be when junior college or NAIA transfers still will have five years of eligibility like Paivia at Vandy. We could see way more grown arse men at schools like Indiana.
