So I guess we’re not mad at Nuss for skipping the bowl last year?

He still have three to play three. That’s a lot bigger after the Howard news

In the grand scheme of things, it was the right decision.

Yep, now we get 2 years of Nuss after Jayden
It seems the professionals who are paid millions to do this do in fact know more than us

It was just a few in a very vocal, very small minority. They will probably never change their opinion. Too shortsighted and stubborn to admit it was a dumb take.

Bowl games didn't matter, especially lower tiered ones until Nuss decided to sit out.

I wasn’t ever that upset with it. Just find it funny how certain players are viewed differently for doing this by certain posters.

I am definitely more upset about Nussmeier not playing in the bowl game last year. Still. He could have made a difference. Enough to win maybe. Howard isn’t in a position to make a difference and wouldn’t be this year either.

What happens if Nuss feels he should start after spring practice… if he transfers then our QB situation is sh*t.

If we are to believe Brad Davis then Nuss didn’t have a choice in the matter

I was upset about it, cuz I figured Howard would beat him out and all that would do would give him an extra year to play at North Carolina State or whatever the frick, which wouldn't help LSU any.
But I'm over it now, because he's the only backup we have next season. The guy does make me nervous with how many picks he throws. I think that's something that can be corrected and it won't be a situation like Jarrett Lee, where you hold your breath every time he dropped back to pass.

The torch and pitchfork crowd doesn't want to hear this, though.

Then we take a transfer ourselves...

People on the Rant are good with it now b/c it looks like it actually helps LSU with more years of eligibility for Nuss.
But that view is only as good as Nuss' continued willingess to stay here and not transfer.
Remember, Nuss made that decision based on his perception of his self interests, not the team.
There is no reason to believe his priorities will change. And , in this environment, we should expect most players to have the same priority of "self over team."

Do any of you baws sincerely believe that Nuss would hang around LSU for 5 years?

If he's good, he'll bolt for the NFL before then and if he isn't and gets beat out by someone coming in, he'll high tail it through the portal. No way that guy sticks around for 5 years.
