So how does a court order override NCAA and not the SEC

SEC is our boss that pays our bills and we work next door to. NCAA is the CEO across the country that the board wants to get rid of

The SEC is punishing the schools not the players. So the schools would have to be the one's to sue the SEC. That seems unlikely considering the schools unanimously voted to approve this rule today.

All it takes is the right lawyers and judge and it won’t hold up in court. How can they punish schools for this but not punish Ole Miss for keeping Trinidad Chambliss who forced another year of eligibility after multiple denials by the NCAA.

Conference membership is voluntary unlike the NCAA.
The SC decision does not affect the conferences.

I never expected the SEC to be around 5-10 years from now but I didn’t anticipate this would be the hill it decides to die on. I really thought the end would come from a broadcast rights revolt.

The player can sue LSU for colluding to restrict their right to work.

The SEC’s argument here is going to be that the NCAA can allow those players to be eligible, that does not mean that we are not allowed to enforce rules that we set forth as a conference and vote unanimously on. There are multiple other conferences where these players can go play at within the NCAA.

Good luck making that argument. The rule didn’t exist when these players made their commitments.

If a player is now a member of the LSU football team and this is their last year of eligibility and the conference, with less than 2 weeks from start of season, issues a new ruling making specifically that player ineligible for SEC ball with the transfer restrictions already in place, meaning the SEC is stealing that player's last year of eligibility....................yeah, I think every court in the land is gonna have a problem with that.

The new rule doesn’t make the player ineligible. It simply punishes the school if they decide to have that player on the roster. For example, a Big 10 school can still sign and play these players, they will just have to be ok with their head coach being suspended for half the season.
