Through their first five seasons as head coaches (excluding interim records):

Dabo: 47-20 record, 30-10 conference record, two division championships, one conference championship

Orgeron: 29-32 record, 14-26 conference record, never finished above third in his division

Yep, they're basically the same coach!

I have no idea how you have 7 upvotes. This truthfully is one of the worst posts I have ever seen and I like O. Nearly everything about this post is a complete joke and wrong. You are clearly a troll.

I’m not sure what alternate universe you live in bud, but I must admit that l never knew the internet reached alternate universes!!

This is how I feel about O

He is like a very fast pinch runner with OPS who started on third.

If he steals home, that’s a great accomplishment. It’s hard to score runs, stealing home is impressive and takes skills.

But idk if he’d ever score a run if you started him in the batters box.

O cant hold Dabo's jock dude. WTF are u talking about? Compare O to someone in his class not one of the best of all time.

Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma would be a fair comparison. Both took over after legends left and were already on the staff at a top 15 program.

The mark here in Louisiana for LSU depends on fan support of the coaches by the fans they either help or they slow down LSU recruiting . They will (the fans) all geaux to the grave thinking they know more than the Coaches !

I don’t think they should be compared... if Dabo had coached at WF or Duke for his first 3 years then that would be comparable to O starting at OM

LULZ of course you don’t. We should all pretend O’s Ole Miss tenure never happened.

This is a no common sense attempt at a comparison between these two.

LSU is nowhere near Clemson’s level right now.

The only point maybe worth noting is Dabo and his program made a giant step forward in the 2012 Peach Bowl stepping over LSU along the way...and then we replace Miles with a les accomplished coach.

Only similarity

O had even lower expectations and more skeptics than Clemson fans of Dabo when he was hired, and rightfully so. So far, O has exceeded Dabo's results both on the field and in recruiting in his first years at the helm.

You have no idea. O had 10x more support his first year than Dabo did.

I am happy with what Coach O has done and is doing, but some of you feel the need to compare him to someone just to justify him. Let him do him and be his own benchmark.

See, a thread like this isn't necessary.

Why do people say things that are not rooted in truth then expect to not be called out on it?

You can't just say any stupid thing you want and then defend it by saying you're just being a good fan.
