So…. Do these guys go back in the draft next year or are they free agents?

Since they already went through the process once, does that mean they have to go back into the draft pool or do they just go straight to free agency?
Edit: a second question. Are they free agents right now? Could an NFL team call them up in November if they have a lot of injuries and need a guy?

They cannot go back in the draft. They would be considered free agents.

My follow up question…. Are they currently free agents then? Let’s say November rolls around and the Bucs have a bunch of injuries, can they call up Pyburn and sign him to the team?

Idk, this is a good question. Pyburn just had 4 sacks in two games and was cut so idk how much he can improve his draft stock. Mean he had more sacks at the pro level than he did all last year. Now, I am glad he is back with us but idk how much it will help his NFL career unless he has like 10-12 sacks this season and wins some awards which would be awesome!

They would be considered free agents. They cannot go back into the draft after already doing it.
Kind of like once you leave college and go pro you can’t go back to college.

Not if Tony Clayton and his pocketbook have anything to say about it. Along with Drew Rosenhaus.

I'm pretty sure the NFL has said that if they go back to college, they cannot play in the NFL this season

The NFL has already said that any players who return to college will not be able to return to the NFL this season.

Once they go back to college they can't get signedby a NFL team until the next league year. They will be free agents.

That’s a really good question and something I have not thought of. Interesting.

I know Bo Jackson was drafted #1 overall by the Bucs but refused to play for them (ouch!). Then the next year, he was drafted by the Raiders with a late throwaway pick, and became one the GOAT RBs. So re-drafting is a thing.
But he sat out a year & never went to camp with the Bucs.
