why are you listing Mays?
Why wouldnt I? He's not gone yet, he just declared for the draft, that's all.

I dunno. Garrett is an elite defender. Sky has a better offensive game than Garrett did but I don’t think it’s NBA good right now

Garrett was a Defensive stud and showed out against Duke shutting down JJ Reddick on National TV. If that game didnt happen I would be curious how his NBA path would have changed.

He can't go to LSU med school and play ball? It would definitely be difficult, but I'm sure that is at least a possibility?
Would no longer be enrolled at LSU-BR.
People playing in grad programs are still enrolled on this campus.

I just have a hard time counting out a guy like Mays. I know Temple has 2 inches on him and was a better defender but Mays is an insanely hard worker a good defender and has a more polished offensive skillset than Temple did. I'm only arguing that the insinuation that he has a "0% shot" at the NBA is insane.

I don’t think it’s zero. But I doubt he’d put med school off for very long if he’s gonna be on a bunch of two way deals or overseas. Those guys HATE it unless they’re in France, China, or Spain

Most likely just going to get some feedback
You don't usually write an announcement/thank you letter to the fan base when you are just going get some feedback.

But he isn’t doing this to “test the nba”.
Are you serious, why the hell else would he do it?
Mays is pre-med, has the grades, his dad's an MD. You don't have to graduate to go to med school, I know someone who applied and was accepted as an undergrad. To this day, he has precisely 1 degree- Doctor of Medicine from LSU-Shreveport. No BS or anything else.
Mays is probably ready to take the MCAT and apply, if he hasn't already. Looks like deadline for the August '19 class was last June. Depending on his situation, he's almost certainly never going to play college ball again- either he's in Med School, or somebody decides to give him 6 figures to sit on an NBA bench.
He might as well have the NBA tell him "no", just to get that out of the way. Otherwise, you'd never really know what could have been.
congrats either way

I will be surprised that skyler walks away from great scholastic success. He actually has a brighter future in my opinion outside of basketball. I would be surprised if he doesn’t know this.

This. Works the same way with pharmacy. Getting the BA is optional usually once you've got the course work to get in.

The NBA is becoming a "3 and D" league. He is a SG that is not great at shooting the 3-ball. Those guys have to either be elite defenders or elite athletes to stick around the NBA, and he's not really either.

But we will be eligible for the tournament !!!!!! Yes we justgot to win 20 games first. Not gonna happen.

As far as I know he can come back before the draft as long as he hasn't hired an agent. It should be expected that every good junior in college basketball will so this.

The players are making a statement if Alleva and king is still here they are all gone. Mayes was the least likely one out of them all to do this, because he was going to medical school at LSU,but now he’s going to the NBA draft sit back and watch what happens

Do you think every player that declared and came back didn't write up something on social media?
