I love that he’s on the radio so much more. Today with Ott and Hanny, he explained why he had to let those guys go. The topic was why Nikki is still around.

With both, Skip said that it wasn’t a win/loss issue but with how they handled the program and media. Smoke got mad at reporters for being critical of his Omaha record and stopped talking to them altogether and wouldn’t get out in the community. Brady was somewhat the same. Said that he hired someone to help Brady handle the media and do more around BR but Brady wouldn’t listen. Made it so that a lot of people didn’t like either.

Interesting stuff. Again, love how candid Skip is at this stage.

He was on a show last week talking about Omaha and the CWS - Skip sounds old

I think he is going to be a weekly deal with Ott and Hanny

Wonder if Skip thought Miles deserved to be fired in 2015.

They didn’t discuss it.

He did also mention that Paul loses recruits because he doesn’t allow facial hair or earings.

Tony Robichaux was insanely strict on the facial hair/hair length deal in the mid 2000s. Even he loosened up and let’s guys rock it now. If that guy can relax that rule then it’s crazy to think PM cant

You can tell he is 80.

Not a defender of Brady, but NO coach at LSU went to more local and state events and spoke than him. Now he didn't stick around after to "mingle" with the crowd, and that did not help that perception. The "colorful" language courtside was a bit much also.

Agreed. They're not marines, they're baseball players.

No facial hair? So he would turn a great player away because of hair that naturally grows on a man's face? I don't get why he would care about that other than just a "my way or the highway" attitude.

Ott's opinions aren't terrible. He's just difficult to listen to when he gets overexcited and can't stop saying "I mean..." or finish a thought.
