Skip was the GOAT! I appreciate him for bringing us LSU fans and Louisiana so many epic sports moments a winning tradition that we could be proud of. The man truly transcended the game! RIP Coach you’ll be missed but never forgotten!

The greatest college baseball coach that created a dynasty and a school that so many players would want to play at. Therefore, LSU is still winning titles because of the foundation he built.
Not only that, he brought in the best college football coach before it was realized just how great he was. Bert recognized his potential when he hired Nick Saban. This brought LSU out of mediocrity and made them a team that so many player wanted to play for as well.
The Skipper has actually impacted 2 major sports and helped create dynasties and a brand that kids want to play for. Thank you Coach Bertman for all you have done for my alma mater and dynasty you created. You will be missed.

Skip isn't just the reason LSU baseball is what it is. Skip is the reason all of college baseball is. Completely elevated baseball.

My wife and I had the privilege of meeting and visiting with him in New Iberia for a crawfish ?? boil when he first came to LSU. His stay will always be remembered. RIP coach.
