The forecasts up to this point are only predicting 4-6 inches for NOLA through the course of the week. I'd have a hard time seeing that barring the city from being viable, especially since when the city did flood on the 6th, it had taken on 8 inches of rain in a few hours, with less pumps functioning. I think they wait until tonight or tomorrow to see if the rainfall totals increase, if not it'll be the Dome.

That would be a long drive from Dallas but worth it to go to Nola.

Just play it in Tiger Stadium and be done with it.
However on the other hand, AC would be kinda nice.

Either way we are in good hands. We have great Democratic leadership in New Orleans.

Great. Now I will robbed in New Orleans and on my tax bill
Sorry wrong board.
I am a little worried about them moving the game to NOLA and the remnants of Harvey deciding to drop a shite load of rain on NOLA and its broken drainage system.

But you want it in br which is much closer to harvey? Makes sense.

BR doesn't have a broken drainage system. BR should be able to handle the rain that is projected without too much flooding.

New Orleans' pumps are in better condition than they were a month ago, and even with that flooding events were still going on around the city as planned. The only way NOLA is passed up is if the storm takes a big shift east and NOLA is looking at 10-20 inches.

game won't be on either team's campus. pretty clear espn wants neutral site and nfl stadium if possible.

The way the bands can seemingly just pop up on the outside of this storm, Baton Rouge or even Nola could see 10-20 inches of rain with not even much warning.
From what I'm reading on weather underground and in the weather thread on the OT, this thing is still very unpredictable and could sit over the gulf for 24+ hours.
Idk what they're going to do, but all of southeast Louisiana isn't out of the woods.

Those forecasts are as good as useless right now.
South Louisiana could get a lot more rain than anticipated. The radar and track of the storm is looking worse and worse.
It would be moronic decision to announce the game in New Orleans today.

Hate to say it but that's not even an option.

Yes. I agree. If the forecast path had stayed the same today as it was yesterday, then the Dome as a no-brainer. Now that the bastard is forecast to drift more to the east, then New Orleans looks much more likely to get a lot of rain.
At this point I am almost ready to say "frick it" and just have them play the game in Phoenix.

That rainfall total to the east of NOLA was a typo. It should be 2.55. The game will be in the dome. Remnants of storm will be around Dallas Friday. The dome is the logical choice.
^This^. Decision by Wednesday. Not many cities can get the hotel room blocks for teams and essentials buttoned up on short notice with a stadium available - NOLA can. Won't be at Tiger Stadium. Will likely be at Dome. #5 on dome real-turf for season opener. Help make up for the snoozy home schedule this year.

Really?? No other city can do that??

I don't think he said "no other city", looks like he said "not many cities".
