From talking to a few people involved with the Superdome I can tell you they want the game in the dome but Mitch's pump incompetence is scaring the hell out of ESPN. They don't want to look like idiots if the allow NOLA to have the game and then it floods too.
I believe every word of this. If the storm track had stayed due north of Houston instead of shifting east, I think the Dome would have been announced as the venue today.

The news reports of 5,000 evacuees to Dallas is a reference to specifics accommodations for gov't agencies.
I was in Dallas Saturday and malls and other public places were FULL of people who had already driven up from Corpus etc to escape the hurricane. I have no doubt DFW has hundreds of thousands from S. Texas right now. I haven't checked hotels but with the Meechigan/ Jorts game the end of the week, I wouldn't be surprised to see that rooms are hard to get .

Mayor of New Orleans does not want anyone to leave homes Tuesday. This game is not being played in NO. You can thank Mitch.

Yeah encouraging everyone to stay home because of "uncertainty" about the city's draining capabilities doesn't look good.
