If you look up into the suites, you can see beer.

Will the bible thumpers in the SEC forbid it?

Currently an SEC rule not to. It will eventually change.

We've been over this a bunch. There is not a written SEC rule that prevents it, but the schools have basically been told not to

Beer no. Don't need already drunk college students and no life "Lump" alcoholic addicts ingesting even more mind altering "Exit from Reality" liquids while in the stadium.

Wine would go over well though with the new "Wine & Cheese" crowd that has recently emerged. They'd all look just smashing as they left at Half-Time/3rd quarter with their Wine glasses in hand.........

I'd sell balloons outside and umbrellas to those sitting below the upper decks especially when Alabama came calling. Plenty of people could then throw balloons at little Nicky.

Isn't it the SEC as a whole that forbids it

Allowing for beer at concession stands wouldn't mean lowering the drinking age. But I do tend to agree with you. There is nothing appealing about a drunk.

So only people in suites get beer? Cool.

The gameday fan in me would like this to happen. The post-gameday fan in me would probably not like it. The game usually provides me a chance to sober up and I haven't snuck in alcohol in about 5 years. As already mentioned though, the bathroom situation is already bad enough. Some major renovations would have to happen in my opinion.

Do you go to these events to get drunk or to watch the event. I go to watch the game and I can do that without beer or wine. Too many drunks go to the games already. :geauxtigers:

Actually, selling beer in college stadiums has the opposite effect according to the folks at wvu. Less binge drinking in the parking lot before the game and less hard alcohol snuck in.

I'm 25 and I believe they should definitely sell at least domestic draft beer at LSU events!

LSU can charge $8 per beer and erase the state deficit in 3 weekends.

Not if you hide it well.
