Sure, it would have still be better than NO SPY, but for frick's sake our rush schemes on 3rd and long were off the charts bad.
But we don’t play impactful guys like Weeks and Womack because they aren’t ready

He did a spy a few times early in the game, but then idk what happened from there.
I'll tell you what happened bc after the 2nd time he spied I told my group they should start blitzing him. All Perkins did was hover behind the LOS, rendering him useless
He sat behind the Dline waiting for Milroe to take off but he never did. The pass rush was stoned and awful per the same story as all season. Milroe sat in the pocket and delivered completions. You cant flush the qb out of the pocket unless there is pressure. So spying wasn't working. The defense is so fricking bad you cant even deploy a strategy

I don’t understand why that is their reflection on Monday. Not only was Milroe running free the entire first half, but we used Perkins to perfection on Bryce Young last year to limit his running. And did all that despite the fact and Bryce could actually throw the ball compared to Milroe

Scotty gave Brian 100m reasons not to give a frick. Same as Jimbo. Guess what-neither do and never have to work again.

This. Learned a lot about Kelly.

it's like house doesn't know what to do with perkins yet he's seen him be effective being a spy in multiple games. it's baffling.

They will probably spy Florida s QB all game. Lol

That is absolutely terrifying that our head coach didn’t notice that DURING THE GAME

That statement makes me question his intelligence and ability to lead this program! As a season ticket holder and booster those comments are extremely concerning!

I'm honestly starting to think that Brian Kelly & Matt House both took Bama & the over. I'm not sure what other explanation there can be. Milroe ran all over them the entire game & they made zero adjustments to slow him down.

I was hinting at that in another thread- our D-line has been a disaster all season trying to tackle most QB's coming out of the pocket, on top of allowing QB runs up the middle by being out of position.

Bama clearly saved that game plan for LSU. Milroe hasn’t run much all season so I understand not going into the game planning to spy him. Though they 100% should have had a spy package ready to roll given his ability.
That said, it was clear after the first 2 drives what they were doing. Not adjusting, at all, was a monumental failure. Milroe beat LSU doing the same thing over and over and over. The final 3 quarters should have been full QB contain with a spy just for good measure. Milroe is not beating anyone with his arm if he’s kept in the pocket.
Kelly and the defensive staff both deserve to be raked over the coals for letting it happen.

Everything you guys are screaming for LSU tried. Everything.
Watch the video, its all there.
Zone, Man, Blitzes, Spying, Exotic looks, Conventional Looks
LSU threw shite against the wall all game, when it worked it was good.
sometimes it worked and we blew the tackle, took a bad angle, slipped, misjudged the ball
sometimes it was a terrible call and it resulted in a terrible outcome for lsu
sum total it was shite

I played a long time ago but Stevie Wonder could’ve seen that we needed a spy. No halftime adjustments.

LSU never went full contain. The ends rushed up the field all night, which is why Milroe was constantly able to step up and escape between the tackles.
You make him escape towards the sidelines with Perkins spying and he has a much more difficult time breaking big runs. Perkins has the speed to track him, and even if he doesn’t get him down he allows his help to crash down and keep Milroe from running wild.
It wasn’t so much not having a spy, it was the ends continually rushing up the field and allowing Milroe to step up and out.

Why do we always have coaches that see the obvious only after the game is over.

How do you not make adjustments- ever...
