Wondering if sliding him up helps relieve him of some pressure and gets him more agressive and restores confidence.

Obviously the guy is still insanely good and even through the slump has an incredible OBP.

No. White behind him makes the pitcher think more and make mistakes. If he’s not hitting he needs to reach base at least.

The problem with that is Crews for the most part is watching the mistakes. 3-4 Crews-Tanks is perfect when Crews is hitting like before. Right now Tanks doesn't get a shot because the inning is over with the bases loaded where he would've mashed.

I agree with the OP. Leadoff makes sense for Crews and the team right now only. Better OBP for that position than Dugas. Could also jump start the team from the first pitch.

As soon as Crews starts bashing again move him back to third. In the meantime Tanks third and Travinsi fourth.

I hope Crews proves me wrong and starts ripping it again tomorrow.

You want the guy who gets on base the most in front of White. That guy is Crews whether he’s getting legit hits or not. He still continues to reach base a ton.

White batted with the bases loaded tonight.

I think flipping him and Dugas for a couple games wouldn’t be that bad.

No a great hitters best friend is a great hitter behind him. If you move Crews up, you got to move White up. Only thing that could make sense is move Crews to 2 and put White at 3. Move Morgan from 2 to 4. Or I would dabble with Morgan at lead off and Dugas in the 4 hole.

What about what ever Jay comes up with that usually yields 8-10 runs.

White needs as many people getting on base a head of him as possible. Guy is an RBI machine

No. We want him with runners on base and White coming after him, his slump notwithstanding.

ETA okay, I see that he is trying that. If it works it works.
If he hits a lead off homer I will say that I told you I wanted men on base.

Maybe OP is actually Jay Johnson and was genuinely looking for the Rant's assistance.

This is the most logical explanation.

Crews tanks 1-2 gives them the most at bats with travenski able to hit with men on. Makes sense. Crews also can now make pitchers work to lead off, rather get that one pitch. I like it.
