Braun is not a real big guy. Saw him up close and prototypical CJJ 1B is a bit larger/taller. So, no I don't see him transitioning to 1B

Absolutely! I would only use Yorke in emergency situations.

I would still have liked to see him play 1B before conference play but I would give him a try. Yorke isn't great there.

Defensively, he's been every bit as reliable as Jared Jones was last year. Nonetheless I keep seeing people post this about Yorke without anything actually tangible to support it.

That is very much an exaggerated point. Has he been terrible? No but he doesn't move well and isn't athletic to get to to balls. Was he as bad as Pearson? No but there was a reason Jay even tried to get someone else at 1st because he wasn't great. Jared was very underappreciated for some of the plays he would make at 1B.
Yorke also isn't swinging the bat at a level that would keep him at the position at all times.

Because it was a midweek game and stuff like that happens in midweek games. Jared Jones started at 3rd in one.

I don't disagree, but in the same vein, people are just making up shite about Yorke because 1) he's struggling at the plate and 2) he's fat so they just assume he's not good defensively.
He's done absolutely nothing to warrant criticism for his defense to this point but far be it for me to get in the way of the rant and a narrative.

Alright I want to be clear. I never said he was bad nor criticizing him, I just said I would have liked to see Braun at 1B prior to Conference play but would still like to see him there eventually because Yorke wasn't great there. Thats not a criticism. Its a fact. He is not great. That doesn't mean he isn't serviceable or average at 1B. Just that hes not great. And with the defensive and offensive struggles there isn't anyone who should be locked into their position except Brown, Curiel, Milam, and Stanfield when hes healthy.

I mean sure he could definitely be better. But it’s the least of our worries. He ranks top 4 in most categories in our lineup lol. And his defense hasn’t even been that bad. If we’re going to attack defense Braun in the outfield and Arrambide at catcher should be the top targets.

I really wish we could see what Yamin has and let Yorke take a couple games off to regroup. Feel like it can’t hurt to try him.
