It appears to me that every time he has a little bit of controversy he loses his focus and he loses his control he just can’t seem to regain his composure

Last night he was having mechanics issues from the jump

It wasn’t a composure thing he just couldn’t get his delivery right.

Baseball is a lot like golf. Gotta have the mental game strong to pitch. Its just you on that island. Also have to have trust in your defense to back you up.

He didn't get a call he wanted and immediately self imploded. That's on him.
If you can't handle your emotions, the talent doesn't mean much long term.

Sounds a lot like 98% of this board.

Admittedly, myself included.

A ton of physical ability, but he doesn't appear to be a gamer. The pressure gets to him.

The total opposite of Eyanson. He always looks focused, no matter what happens.

Happened to all the pitchers except Williams. They threw good pitches then didn't get the calls they wanted and imploded.

This is one of the most difficult adjustments for college players especially pitchers. Many times it is the reason for inconsistent performances.
We judge these guys like they should have the mental makeup of MLB players, and the large majority of them are just not there yet. I’m guilty of it too. It’s a work in progress for every player.

this.. ben mcdonald did a nice job explaining how his mechanics were wrong (shoulder opening towards first past side early in the delivery). yeskie didn't go talk to him though. odd. just let him struggle and waste the game.

He didn’t get to warmup, you know how many warm up throws he got from the rubber? Zero

Don’t blame the coach, your starter should get through the order once.

The shitty start id on Noot throwing batting practice.

If you really think he didn’t get to warm up, you might need some adult supervision.

He came in and struck out the first 2 batters he faced I believe. When he came back out in the 3rd is when he imploded. So if it was due to lack of warmup...surely wasn't an issue initially.
