What business is it of yours? WHy don't you start by letting us know here about all that's going wrong with your own life.

Gilbert is a public figure, and was an elite recruit that left LSU under bad, and somewhat mysterious circumstances. That attracts attention, you know.

Maybe you're not aware, but there's an entire industry of media that just covers sports because, you know, it's a multi-billion dollar industry and fans like to know stuff about teams and players.

Players won't really care about that. Especially if he shows up and puts in work. And also if LSU wins games.

Sorry, I'm just not excited about having some mentally ill synthetic weed 1.0 GPA suspended transfer portal kid back on the team. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Besides the fact this is a little harsh, I actually think this would be an example of juice being worth the squeeze...

If you know a guy has an issue, but you can help him get back on track by getting him the help he needs, you do it. If that guy doesn’t accept that help, then that’s a different situation. But assuming he accepts that help, you do it. Because that is much bigger than football. In return, you know you’re getting an incredible talent.

Yea bc WE aren’t him. But the dude left and tried to play for Florida. If it was a technicality then why not work with LSU (like right now) to get on the field. Instead he ran off to another university to suit up.

I’m not him but I am not blind

He had an acute psychiatric episode resulting from bipolar disorder that required an inpatient stay. His mom came to Baton Rouge and brought him home as any good mother would do. Pre-existing mental disorders often materialize or worsen in the 18-22 year old age group. I'm sure the lockdowns didn't help. By all accounts I've heard, he is doing well and getting treatment and should be fine (think Brandon Marshall).

Ed Orgeron put his foot in his mouth in the media about it by saying his body was hurting and all the of fans and pundits attacked him. The pundits all later backtracked due to finding out the truth, but our fans are fricking stupid and continue to call this 6'5" 250 lb monster a "pussy" like he wouldn't break them in half like a stale church wafer. He tried to leave after that, for which I do not blame him.

Additionally, he let his grades collapse during all of this which is the eligibility concern.

If his teammates and coaches welcome him back, then come on back big boy and help the team win some football games.

This is tremendous summary. Thank you for this.

O probably had good intentions, but it backfired. Sounds like he was trying to take up for him without exposing the true issue.

O probably should not have said anything. However, fans would still speculate illegal drug suspension, like the often do.

This is why I try my best not to judge.

It seems like O continues to run his mouth more than he really needs to. I am not trying to come off as an O hater by any means. In fact, I just want him to stop hurting himself.

I won't fault him for possibly getting embarrassed and wanting a fresh start. You do?

I doubt it helped when some fans were calling him a pussy.

However, I hope he understands that can happen at any major university. There will always be fans that react this way.

I just selfishly hope he recognizes the relationships he has at LSU are tight enough to stay here. I also hope he gets the help he needs, regardless what happens.

Can we seriously stop piling on the young man already?

Yeah, knowing my own imperfections I'm kind of a fan of forgiveness and redemption.

If and when he is officially back it will be because O left it up to the team and they made the decision to accept him back!
