You want a real life example of how they tried? They have a whole week dedicated to celebrating pride. I also found an assignment in my kids backpack that asked them what their preferred name and pronouns are and asked them if they can share these things with their parents or if they should keep it a secret.
I’m done with the off-topic stuff. Go read everything I’ve told you and the examples that I’ve provided. Now go read what you posted.
