Who determines "meaningless"? Doesn't their membership in the SEC imply the affirmation of the tournament and its importance by default? Do they have the power to arbitrarily turn on/off the relevance (meaning) of the tournament from year to year? There is no "portal" to opt out of the tournament, and it sends a message that your team - like all the others - doesn't poop vanilla ice cream, has to earn its stripes just like everybody else, and has to pay their appreciation dues back to the Conference.

It's a lesson in humility and sportsmanship to subrogate yourself to the Conference that you benefit from. Deal with it.

Completely meaningless.

Definitely not watching (or caring) about a 9:30 AM Wednesday game.

They should treat it like a scrimmage.

Not watching or caring about a Thursday 9:30 AM game either.

Empty the bench for these 2 and rest up for what counts next week.

Why are you attending an event where you hope your team loses so you can go home?

biggest thing I want to see is Crews start heating up

That and I want to see Skenes strike out 18 in just 6 innings on Thursday

don’t want him overworked in a pretty meaningless game but still would love to see him get that all-time K record

Nope, need to see some players step up before the NCAA version.

He's hedging his bet. The Tough Guy Brigade is beating their chest saying this doesn't matter, who cares, etc. Most people with a brain would like to see us do well and have some guys working out kinks.

He thinks he's covered however the wind shifts.

I say we play starters like normal until Thompson catches a pop up. Then we are good.

This is such a stupid statement. Anytime LSU steps between the lines in any field of competition, it has meaning.

Meaningless toward obtaining a top 8 seed and advancing in the nattie doesn't mean it's meaningless overall.

I’d like to see them win a couple games to get some work in before the real work begins.

Disagree - this team needs to shake off the woes and regain their confidence. I'm looking at you, bullpen.

You can play to win the game while also understanding the results don’t mean anything. LSU isn’t going to purposely lose a game. They may not play the best players, specifically pitching, but they want to win the games and will play hard in them.

The goal of this SEC tournament is to set up pitching for next weekend. Anything beyond that is lagniappe.

I swear, it’s like some of you retards don’t have any experience with sport’s psychology… losing 2 games in this tournament will not do ANYTHING to help this team make a run to Omaha

You NCAA14/Madden GM allstars are fricking stoopid

It’s not meaningless but it’s not very relevant in light of the NCAA tourney. It’s not the teams’ fault that the ncaa tourney begins so soon after the SEC tourney ends, that’s just the way it is.
