The NCAA/SEC is hanging to the concept of “student athletes”. They haven’t been that for years and the courts see that

This should be fun. A bunch of rich old guys trying to explain how letting a group of young poor guys make a few hundred thousands dollars this year will do irreparable damage to their billion dollar conference.
Wow, spoken like a Democrat.

Letting pro players come back is objectively bad for the sport

You are absolutely right. Letting pros come back to college is objectively bad for the sport and wrong.

Except for this one in instance.

It’s not hard for even mildly intelligent people to hold 2 opposing viewpoints in their head at the same time. You can agree that pros in college is not right or good for the sport. But you can also look at this situation and realize that these kids were wronged and deserve their fifth year. This is a one year situation that cannot happen again. This year, 2026, will be a fifth year for exactly one class. If you were in the class of 2021, then 2025 was your fifth year and you are in eligible this year. Moving forward players know the rules so this isn’t an issue after this year.

I don’t know why people get shite on for wanting to do is right for these kids. They are pros in the sense that they put their name on a piece of paper essentially. They had the most minimal experience of a professional career that you could have.

Sankey did 3 pushups this morning is feeling his little muscles. He's going to end up bankrupting the SEC because of the little pride he has in himself.

I'm no lawyer, but I don't see any way the SEC wins these court battles.

You have to realize how many on this board only find wins in their lives through sports victories. They dont care about the college aspect, they dont care that the players have little connection the LSU. They simply need wins to enrich their mediocre lives.

Remember when the Olympics were all "Amateur" athletes? Things change.

Conferences typically are successful in court especially under appeal. The bylaws are supported by member schools. That is tough to argue against.

In the meantime, the SEC has no choice but to comply with the temporary ruling.

I think the urgency is rosters are due on Friday I believe. If a school uses "former pros" on their roster on Friday, the SEC would prefer to be in a position to utilize its bylaws.

Of course I am not sure what will happen on Thursday.

Sankey is a bully using the money of universities. If it was his personal money like kids trying to get a nil payday maybe he would not be pushing his weight around.
Sankey needs to go and the sec office needs to move somewhere else

I bet you weren't thinking 8-4 before all this started. Now, if these players dont come back, it's 8-4?

Then why is Trinidad still playing for Ole Miss? Did that not go against the SEC bylaws? Did the SEC not object? Did the NCAA not lose their appeal?

Bottom line, the SEC is scared of Lane and Wade and will use every thing in their "book" to block them from being successful.
