When an entire fan base can recognize a referee, it should be an indicator that there's an issue. Still the only ref I've ever been able to name on sight. frick that guy.

LSU simply needs to play better when he is officiating just like learning to play better in n the road!

It’s the “no calls” that are the worst. The SEC will always protect their playoff contenders but this tear we don’t know sho that is

I mean I get your point but look at the penalty breakdown by game:

2026 Ole Miss: 7 for 34 yards (Ole Miss had 8 for 77 yards)
2025 Vandy: 7 for 52 yards (Vandy had 4 for 35 yards)
2023 Ole Miss: 6 for 35 yards (Ole Miss had 11 for 121 yards)
2022 Georgia: 3 for 24 yards (Georgia had 4 for 33 yards)
2021 UCLA: 2 for 10 yards (UCLA had 8 for 73 yards)
2021 Kentucky: 4 for 18 yards (Kentucky had 3 for 25 yards)

Not only do that stats show that when he's the head ref for away games LSU typically gets penalized LESS outside of 1 game but pretending like we lost any of the games you listed bc of officiating is comical.

People that poo poo your debate will be the 1st to say Tom Ritter was “against LSU” in all the games he reffed — especially Bama vs LSU.

I have contended every year, that an SEC official — working games on field or in the replay booth —- should have absolutely NO direct (alumnus, family immediate family on the team or at the school) or indirect (in-law, extended family on the team, alum of the school or currently enrolled) in order to comply and have no evident culpability to impress upon their decision making.

This is NOT followed at all. And for those who say this is not possible, yes it is…. You hire from a national pool of refs…offer them big $$$ to join your league’s office

The fact is the officiating in the Kentucky game greatly influenced the outcome and despite that had Kiffin gone for it LSU may have e pulled it off but had LSU converted who knows , maybe a flag comes out .

Fun fact, my wife and I know Smith's ex wife. She Lives in Hoover Alabama

She said David is as straight as they come when it comes to officiating, she said he can be a little intimiating and is not an emotional type guy... didn't say many bad things but she defended his officiating.

She told us the Tennessee fans were sending him death threats this past weekend

2026: LSU-Ole Miss (32-23) (Road) L LSU 7 for 34 yards (OM had 77)
2025: LSU-Vanderbilt (31-24) (Road) L LSU had 7 for 52 (V had 35)
2023: LSU-Ole Miss (55-49) (Road) L LSU 6 for 35 yards (OM had 121 yards)
2022: LSU-UGA (50-30) (Neutral) L LSU 3 for 24 yards
2021: LSU-UCLA (38-27) (Road) L LSu 2 for 10 yards (UCLA 73 yards)
2021 LSU-Kentucky (42-21) (Road) L LSU 4 for 18yards

Only one game did LSU have more penalties or yards penalized. The biggest issue was this years OM game where they missed a handful of calls.

The huge discrepancies aren't as important as when the penalties are called. They usually help bama out to get game in control then they make a few irrelevant calls to male it look good. Thats the way it was. We will see if that continues.

All the games you used as your "evidence", we clearly lost and not because of the refs.

Ole Miss this year, we clearly lost that game and it wasn't because of refs. Vanderbilt last year, we lost and it wasn't because of the refs. 2023 Ole Miss, we had a terrible defense with a horrible defensive coordinator. We would've lost by more if Jayden Daniels wasn't scoring on almost every drive. LSU v Georgia, we got dominated on the lines. It was BK's first year and he did well, but we were nowhere near where we needed to be to win an SEC championship game against that Georgia team. No ref will account for a 20 point arse whipping. UCLA, coach O wasn't worried about his team and was more worried about chasing pussy instead of coaching. Got completely out coached and embarrassed by UCLA. Again, that had nothing to do with the refs. A 21 point loss to Kentucky on the road by the same coach O coached team that was soft because the coach was completely checked out and not worried about his team.

This is some weak, soft shite. None of those losses were because of that ref or a bias against LSU. Constantly blaming the refs is so weak, especially when you look at the games you brought up. We should all just be thankful we don't have players as soft as some of our fans.

All refs suck. It's not some conspiracy against LSU. They just suck.

Well OM was massively holding all game....and you can't sit here with a straight face and tell me KY wasn't a ref job....10 seconds of stopping a guy who is eventually pushed across the goal line comes to mind on a huge play....but sure. Nothing to see. I love you people who act like there is no cheating to protect programs. Stunned bama got screwed against ga this year...99% it is bama getting critical calls....2009 ring a bell?

Correlation is not causation. You showed no actual instances of bias, like bad overturns or extensive missed calls.

My goodness, you are calling out people for a 50 IQ, but yet are spewing all types of nonsense in this thread.

Refs making/missing bad calls is a part of just about every sport, and it has happened to every single team playing from time to time. Has there ever been some cheating from refs? Absolutely there has been. Nobody is suggesting that either of these things do not exist.

HOWEVER, every single time LSU loses, it isn't because the refs cheated. LSU has had calls in plenty of games this year go in their favor. I mean, you are really sitting in this thread and saying that Kentucky football is being "protected" by the SEC. Give me a break.

Yes, we all know the SEC has been tipping the scales to protect Kentucky football for decades

Before the Auburn game there were the requisite "get ready to be screwed by the SEC refs" posts that accompanies EVERY game. Yet, somehow the penalties and yardages were nearly identical, LSU had an INT overturned in its favor, and there was possible (though not blatant) PI that could have been called on LSU in the endzone on 3rd down, forcing Auburn to settle for a FG rather than a potential TD to make it 7-3.

The funny thing is if you go to ANY other team's message board there is ALWAYS a collection of bozos who are convinced the refs/league is plotting to screw their team every game in favor of (insert successful team at the moment). The SEC/refs simultaneously have it out for just your team...and every other team
