SEC Network - Fla State is coming into the Baton Rouge Super regional very hot and very motivated. LSU must win game 1. If LSU does, this regional may be over. Admittingly LSU’s pitching during the season had not been up to LSU standards, today is one of the few times this season that LSU will have their two great freshmen pitchers starting in a best of three series.

Take one game at a time, SEC Network hosts, one game at a time. If the Tigers do, we got this.

Agree 100%. We win game 1 we bring FSU back down to earth. Gotta get game 1. How are we going to handle the LHP FSU is throwing today?

We have to win 2 out of three. It can happen a few different ways.

Captain obvious observation. EVERY TEAM MUST WIN GAME NO. 1, since about 87% of game 1 winners advance to Omaha.

We have shown improvement against lefties.

Agree, LSU has shown improvement against lefties, but this is their Ace. Would not be surprised to see a 1 or 2 run game, hopefully in LSU’s favor.

I am not near as worried about lefties as i was earlier in the season when Zack was our only right hander hitting. Garza, Broussard and Zack are hitting well the ball well right now. Dup and Smith are hitting everything lately and our traditionally been good against lefties. Hopefully we will show well today.

That is because Fla. St. is pitching their ace in game two.

I thought their Ace is pitching game 2?

Fla State Coach is playing this very smart, he’s seen how badly LSU has been against lefties.

They must win game one. But if they don’t, then they must win games two and three.

We were always gonna face their lefty Parrish, and their righty and Ace Van Eyk in game 1&2. Would it be better if we won game 1 and didn’t have to win the next 2...yes, but LSU has shown that they can hit right handed power pitchers this year.

That’s stupid stuff. What if FSU wins game one, Marceaux shuts them down in game two, and Walker pitches seven innings in game three? Would we still lose the series?

Henry holds them to 2 or 3 through seven, while we scratch out the same. Then our BP outperforms theirs. And we take advantage of their poor fielding.

I love when people say this shite. Yes winning game 1 greatly increases our chances but it neither guarantees a loss or a win.

Win 2 gams and let’s go to Nebraska.
