this is why i can't take you people seriously. he's been absolutely DEMOLISHING pm at the cws. pm is not even a blip on the radar compared to him. and then you make fun of him having a few bad weeks in the middle of the season. it's just all so stupid.

i said several weeks ago there was no reason to panic. there's tons of baseball left and pm's teams usually peak at the sec tourney so the team can definitely improve. if the arms get healthy, this pitching staff is just brutal. one of the all time deepest groups at lsu.

I can't tell if the pitches per plate appearance are up. But my eyes are telling me that they are.

They sure seem to be. Even Watson is being more selective

Has he though?

ETA: If you consider Mainieri to be an underachiever, then there is no way you wouldn't consider Sully the same. At least if you're intellectually honest.

actually, that call could have gone either way.

It was close.

And if the runner had held it’s not as if the out wouldn’t have been registered at first.

yes. not even close. not in the same universe. several others are better over the last 9 years. i always get asked who? then i post the w/l records. then i get told well, like, that's your opinion, man. or the goalposts get shifted like they're skating on ice. some people just don't want to hear the truth

You know, just because you keep saying these things over and over again doesn't actually make it true.

Ok, I’ll bite. Name them and their records.

After you finish answering my first question list how many national championships of each coach versus that overall W/L record of each coach at the cws you keep flapping your gums about.

How many titles does O’Sullivan have? Seriously I didn’t remember O’Sullivan having a lot more success than PM but I could be wrong. I remember both of them being criticized for underachieving which i never thought was fair.

Thanks for the reality check.

Serious question. Why is it this year, we seem to have the worst hitting team ever; but the numbers shows a lot of peoples perception is incorrect? Including mine!

You're right, O'Sullivan sucks.

I mean, his overall resume is not better than Mainieri's.

Because you're only watching LSU games, and you are watching those games through the prism where you think a crooked number should be put up every inning.

If you watched any other random SEC game with that same prism, you'd want to fire that team's hitting coach too.

Only one counts. The other was a bad call. Umpires just want to do the “you’re out of there” theatrics..they need to cut that shite out.

One, the same as Mainieri. And he had to beat LSU in the finals to win that one.

Oh, what might have been if Eric Walker hadn't gone down to injury during the CWS...!?!

So you think I accumulated all those stats? Did you not see the link I posted in the OP from the ESPN website?

O’Sullivan has routinely underperformed in Omaha.

He had teams better than the 2017 team that flopped in Omaha or didn’t even make it. Last years team alone had 2 starters that were first round picks, and a 3B who was a first rounder.

whenever i post this list, people assume that i want pm fired and that i want these people to replace him.
1. i am NOT saying pm should be fired.
2. i am NOT saying any other particular coach would guaranteed be better at lsu

i am responding to the silly idea that pm is "as good as it gets" etc. my question all along has been is lsu getting a commensurate roi. the answer is no. the solution is debatable.
