SEC ban on players doesn't seem like that big of a deal

If it's allowed, why not be on the cutting edge of it. Credit to LSU for not letting any competitive edge get by them without front running it
If it's not allowed, no one gets to do it. That stinks for the players, if in fact they aren't getting their 5th year of eligibility due to miscommunication. But ultimately, the teams are all at the same place competitively
I love that our AD and coaches are willing to push the limits to win. I'm not in for cheating, but I am for being highly competitive and creative within the rules

Lane is already showing why he is a good HC. Be on the leading edge, and this is how you don’t get left in the dust.
Hoping these guys can stay and play

Well, the good news is we’ve seen this play out in past lawsuits against the NCAA. The SEC doesn’t have any protection from Congress either, so this ban doesn’t mean much. Get a judge to grant a TRO and the baws are in business.

How does this affect the BBall though?
edit: Never mind, only affects RJ

It’s not miscommunication. It’s the ncaa and conference commissioners purposefully dropping this rule change now KNOWING it will create a mess so they can crawl back to congress and say please pass that bill.

It only affects RJ Luis who unfortunately for him just got his judge order to be eligible yesterday

Never mind, looks like only RJ will be affected

They need an injunction.
TRO is the first step.

Man let’s just play football

Having coaches suspended and the university fined cant happen, lsu and other schools will probably play ball and these guys will never play

If they get granted an injunction I expect they’ll play. If not it’s over.

I imagine all schools will be on the same page. Probably were before the “ban” was announced. These kids will never play.

It's essentially common sense.

Yet Max Johnson is playing his 6th or 7th year. These players are going to sue the SEC and I hope they get paid big time.

To be honest, I’m ok with RJ not being allowed to play. I think the 2022 athletes have a real case and should be allowed to play. If the SEC is only able to block RJ, we are in great shape.

The SEC can make their own rules and punishments to enforce. It’s like something being legal but against your employer’s rules. They can reprimand you.
I almost guarantee these players won’t play.

So our own president didn’t support Lane?

Seems reasonable. However, they are out in front of the court interpretations. The civil court can be anything but reasonable.
